The Conference (event)
Die Wannseekonferenz, international title The Conference, is a German TV docudrama, first aired January 24, 2022 by the ZDF broadcaster, about the Wannsee Conference held in Berlin-Wannsee in 1942 to organise the extermination of the Jews. Background Director Matti Geschonneck shows a reenactment of the real Wannsee Conference held January 20, 1942, based on a script by Magnus Vattrodt. German Nazi officials meet midst the Second World War to determine the so-called “Final Solution to the Jewish Question”. It is not the beginning of the Shoah but it is a meeting to coordinate various government branches for carrying out the destruction of Jews. Philipp Hochmair
Philipp Hochmair (German: fɪǀɪp ˈhoːxmɑɪɐ; born 16 October 1973) is an Austrian theater, film and television actor. Early life Hochmair grew up in Vienna (Austria) where he discovered his passion for literature, film and theater. He studied acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna in the master class of Klaus Maria Brandauer and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique in Paris. Career Theater From 2003 to 2009 Hochmair was engaged at the Viennese Burgtheater (admitted in the gallery of honor). When he left the Burgtheater in 2009, he worked at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg until 2016. Apart from this, he had engagements at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Staatstheater Hannover, Volksbühne Berlin and at the Zürich Schauspielhaus. Otto Hofmann
Otto Hofmann (16 March 1896 – 31 December 1982) was a German SS-'' Obergruppenführer'' in Nazi Germany who was the head of the SS Race and Settlement Main Office. He participated in the January 1942 Wannsee Conference, at which the genocidal Final Solution to the Jewish Question was planned. Sentenced to 25 years in prison at the RuSHA Trial in March 1948 for war crimes and crimes against humanity, Hofmann was released in April 1954. Roland Freisler
Karl Roland Freisler (30 October 1893 – 3 February 1945) was a German jurist, judge and politician who served as the State Secretary of the Reich Ministry of Justice from 1935 to 1942 and as President of the People's Court from 1942 to 1945. As a prominent ideologist of Nazism, he influenced as a jurist the Nazification of the German legal system. He was appointed President of the People's Court in 1942, overseeing the prosecution of political crimes as a judge and became known for his aggressive personality, his humiliation of defendants and frequent use of the death penalty in sentencing. Josef Bühler (16 February 1904 – 22 August 1948) was a German lawyer who, as the protégé of Governor General Hans Frank, rose to become his deputy as the State Secretary in the Nazi Germany-controlled General Government in Kraków during the Second World War. Reich Security Main Office Referat IV B4, known as RSHA IV B4 (German: ''Eichmannreferat'' IV D4 until March 1941, or ''Judenreferat''), was a sub-department of Germany's Reich Security Main Office (''Reichssicherheitshauptamt'' or RSHA) and the Gestapo during the Holocaust.
