The Chuck Dukowski Sextet
The Chuck Dukowski Sextet (or CD6) was a band featuring former Black Flag bassist Chuck Dukowski. The band was called a sextet even though they only have four members. History Dukowski wanted to start playing again so he began playing with a drummer in December 2012. He invited his wife, Lora Norton, to contribute vocals and after a few years his step-son Milo Gonzalez joined as guitarist at the age of sixteen. Dukowski has said that CD6 is the most collaborative band he has been in since Würm with each member having a say in songwriting although Lora handles the lyric writing. The band's first album, ''Eat My Life'', was released on Dukowski's own label Nice & Friendly Records. A second album, ''Reverse the Polarity'', was also released on Nice & Friendly Records. Sextet
A sextet (or hexad) is a formation containing exactly six members. The former term is commonly associated with vocal ensembles (e.g. The King's Singers, Affabre Concinui) or musical instrument groups, but can be applied to any situation where six similar or related objects are considered a single unit. Musical compositions with six parts are sextets. Many musical compositions are named for the number of musicians for which they are written. Mike Watt + The Missingmen
The Missingmen are an American punk rock trio fronted by Minutemen/ Firehose/ Stooges bassist Mike Watt. The band features Watt, guitarist Tom Watson ( Slovenly, The Pair Of Pliers, The Jom And Terry Show, Red Krayola), and drummer Raul Morales ( FYP, Killer Dreamer, The Leeches, Mike Watt and the Secondmen). The band's name is a humorous reference to the fact that during a 2005 European tour behind Watt's album '' The Secondman's Middle Stand'', neither of the original Secondmen ( Pete Mazich and Jerry Trebotic) participated. Würm (band)
Würm was a sludge metal band started in 1972 by bass player Chuck Dukowski, who would later join Black Flag. They released one LP on Greg Ginn's SST Records and some tracks on compilations. They were active from 1972 to 1978 and from 1982 to 1983. History Würm began in Hermosa Beach in 1972 when Gary McDaniel, who would later be known as Chuck Dukowski, and guitar player Ed Danky decided to start a band. They shared the vocal duties and came up with the name Würm in 1974. They played parties and went on tour. At the Würmhole, their practice place, they became friends with Keith Morris and Greg Ginn of the band Panic, who became regulars at the Würmhole parties before beginning to live there and practice there too.
