The Call (band)
The Call is an American rock band formed in Santa Cruz, California, in 1980. The main lineup consisted of members Michael Been, Scott Musick, Tom Ferrier, and Jim Goodwin. The band released nine studio albums over the next two decades before disbanding in 2000. Their 1986 song, "I Still Believe (Great Design)", was covered by Tim Cappello and included in the 1987 film ''The Lost Boys''. The band also achieved significant success in 1989 with "Let the Day Begin", which reached No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' U.S. Mainstream Rock chart and was later used as a campaign theme song for Al Gore's 2000 Al Gore 2000 presidential campaign, Presidential Campaign. ''Red Moon'' is the seventh studio album by the American rock band The Call. It was released in 1990. According to Michael Been in a 1992 interview, their label MCA reached out to radio asking them not to play the album or promote after dropping the band from the label during the middle of their European tour. ''Let the Day Begin'' is an album by the American band the Call, released in 1989. The band's former label, Elektra Records, declined to release the album. The album peaked at No. 64 on the ''Billboard'' 200. The title track peaked at No. 42 on the UK Singles Chart. The band promoted the album by touring with the Peregrins. ''Let the Day Begin'' has sold more than 300,000 copies. The title track climbed the charts, but, because MCA elected to switch pressing plants, there were no singles in stores. According to Michael Been: "There wasn't any foul play, though. It was just that MCA was switching over pressing plants, and they hadn't printed up enough copies of the single—only 100,000, I think. Celldweller is an electronic rock project by American multi-musician Klayton. Celldweller's songs have been featured in many films, movie trailers, television shows and video games. Career Precursors: Circle of Dust and Angeldust (1992–1999) The name Celldweller was derived from a nickname his mother gave him when he was a teenager, dubbed "Cellar Dweller", as he made all of his music in his parents' basement. Klayton Albert (born Scott David Albert; June 17, 1969), also known mononymously as Klayton, is an American multi-instrumentalist from New York City who currently resides in Los Angeles, California. He has led several Electronic music, electronic bands and has performed under a variety of stage names since the early 1990s. His current projects are Celldweller, Scandroid, Circle of Dust and FreqGen. The Protomen are an American rock band who started their career composing concept albums loosely based on the video game series ''Mega Man''. Their stage names are largely references to pop culture films, song titles, and fictional characters. The group members refer to themselves as storytellers, creating a "rock and roll fable". Russell Taff (born November 11, 1953) is an American gospel singer and songwriter who grew up in Farmersville, California. He has sung a variety of musical styles throughout his career including: pop rock, traditional Southern gospel, contemporary country music, and rhythm and blues. He first gained recognition as lead vocalist for the Imperials (1976–81). One of his best-known performances is the song "Praise the Lord".
