The Boat People (Australian Band)
The Boat People were an Australian four-piece indie pop band. The Brisbane based group consists of James O'Brien, Robin Waters, Charles Dugan and Tony Garrett. History The Boat People began performing in the Brisbane music scene in early 2000, releasing their debut self-titled E.P. in October of that year. In 2002, the band's released their second E.P. titled ''Squeaky Clean E.P.''. Another E.P. was released in 2003, titled ''Three Pieces for Small Ensemble'' found radio success and the band toured before the departure of drummer Chris Pickering. Pickering was briefly replaced by Geoff Green, of successful Brisbane group George, before Tony Garrett joined the group. The band then released their fourth E.P. titled ''Tell Someone Who Cares'' in 2004. In August 2005, The Boat People released their first studio album, titled, '' yesyesyesyesyes'', which included the singles "Clean" and "Unsettle My Heart". Christopher James Pickering is an Australian alternative country singer, songwriter and guitarist based in Melbourne, Australia. Life Pickering was born and grew up in the town of Warwick, about south-west of Brisbane. Until June 2004, Chris drummed and sang for the Boat People. George (band)
George (stylised as george) were an Australian rock band from Brisbane, Queensland. The band's first album, '' Polyserena'', reached No. 1 on the Australian charts on 17 March 2002. Background For most of george's career, the band consisted of Katie Noonan on vocals and keyboards, her brother Tyrone Noonan on vocals, guitar and keyboards, Geoff Green on drums and percussion, Paulie Bromley on bass guitar and Nick Stewart on guitar. Geoff Hooton, a bass guitar player, left the band in early 2000 and was replaced by Bromley. The band was originally founded by the Noonans, Stewart and Stewart's twin brother James Stewart. The latter would leave the band early on, however, to pursue a career in acting. The Noonans formed the nucleus of the band, doing most of the songwriting and lead vocals. Paul Underwood (born 16 August 1973) is a former professional association football, footballer. He previously played for Football League Two club Luton Town F.C., Luton Town. Underwood began his career with Carshalton Athletic, and after spells at Sutton United, Dorking F.C., Dorking and Molesey F.C., Molesey, he moved to Enfield F.C., Enfield.
