Thaung Aye
Thaung Aye (born December 1, 1956) is a Burmese politician and former military officer who currently serves as a Pyithu Hluttaw MP for Pyawbwe Township. Early life and education Thaung Aye was born on 1 December 1956 in the village of Kana, in Pegu Division's Kawa Township to Wine and Than. He graduated from Rangoon University in 1974 and Defence Services Academy in 1975. Political career He served as Chairman of the Shan State Peace and Development Council from 2006 to 2008 and as Chairman of the Rakhine State Peace and Development Council from 2008 to 2010. In the 2015 Myanmar general election, he contested the Pyithu Hluttaw from Pyawbwe Township parliamentary constituency, winning a majority of 82,382 votes. On March 21, 2018, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker Win Myint resigned. Thaung Aye and T Khun Myat (Kutkai constituency) were nominated for the new chairman. Pyithu Hluttaw
The Pyithu Hluttaw (, ; House of Representatives) is the ''de jure'' lower house of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, the bicameral legislature of Myanmar (Burma). It consists of 440 members, of which 330 are directly elected through the first-past-the-post system in each townships (the third-level administrative divisions of Myanmar), and 110 are appointed by the Myanmar Armed Forces, under a constitutional provision that has no parallel in the world. After the 2010 general election, Thura Shwe Mann was elected as the first Speaker of House of Representatives. The last elections to the Pyithu Hluttaw were held in November 2015. Union Solidarity And Development Party
The Union Solidarity and Development Party (; abbr. USDP) is an ultranationalist, pro-military political party in Myanmar. The Defence Services Academy (, ) located in Pyin Oo Lwin, is the premier military service academy of Myanmar, training future officers for all three branches of Myanmar military. The Ministry of Defence administered academy offers bachelor's degree programs in liberal arts, combined physical sciences, and computer science. DSA has conferred basic degrees on 33,065 graduates from the first graduation ceremony up to the 62nd graduation in December 2021. Bago Region (, ; formerly Pegu Division and Bago Division) is an administrative divisions of Myanmar, administrative region of Myanmar, located in the southern central part of the country. Win Myint ( ; born 8 November 1951) is a Burmese politician who served as the tenth president of Myanmar from 2018 to 2021, when he was removed from office in the 2021 coup d'état. Tang Bao Khun Myat, known as T Khun Myat ( ; born 30 October 1949) is a Burmese politician, lawyer and civil servant of an ethic Kachin. The Democratic Voice of Burma (, abbreviated DVB) is one of Myanmar's largest independent media organisations. DVB was founded as a non-profit media organization based in Oslo, Norway and Chiang Mai, Thailand.
