Vaikom Muhammed Basheer
Vaikom Muhammad Basheer (21 January 1908 – 5 July 1994), popularly referred to as Beypore Sulthan, was a writer of Malayalam literature. He was a writer, humanist, freedom fighter, novelist and short story writer, noted for his path-breaking, down-to-earth style of writing that made him equally popular among literary critics as well as the common man. His notable works include ''Balyakalasakhi'', ''Shabdangal'', '' Pathummayude Aadu'', '' Ntuppuppakkoranendarnnu'', '' Mathilukal'', '' Janmadinam'' and '' Anargha Nimisham'' and the translations of his works into other languages have earned him worldwide acclaim. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honor of the Padma Shri in 1982. Muvattupuzha River
Muvattupuzha () is a town in the midlands directly to the east of Kochi in Ernakulam district, Kerala, India. It is located about from downtown Kochi, and is a growing urban centre in central Kerala. The town is also the starting point of the Muvattupuzhayar (Muvattupuzha river), which is a confluence formed by three rivers: the Thodupuzhayar, Kaliyar, and Kothayar. Muvattupuzha is bordered by the Kottayam district on the southern side and the Idukki district on the eastern side. Vaikom, , is a municipal town and a capital town of Vaikom Taluk, situated in the northwest of Kottayam district in the state of Kerala, India. Vaikom Viswan is a politician from the State of Kerala in India. He was the Convener of Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala and member of the Central Committee of Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM). Early life He was born on 28 October 1939 in Vadayar village, Bhoothapuyam Amsham of Thalayolaparambu Panchayath, Vaikom in Kottayam district, in an ordinary family to Padmanabhan Nair and Karthyayani Amma. Kaduthuruthy is a town in Kottayam District in the state of Kerala, India. Geography Kaduturuthy has an average elevation of . Its name derives from ''Kadal thuruth'', meaning near to the beach as it is believed that several centuries ago, the Arabian sea extended inward into the place, and that it receded due to a tsunami. Kuttanad
Kuttanad ( ml, കുട്ടനാട്) is a region covering the Alappuzha, Kottayam and Pathanamthitta Districts, in the state of Kerala, India, well known for its vast paddy fields and geographical peculiarities.
