Tha Aye
Tha Aye ( my, သာအေး) is a former member of the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC) and former Chief Minister of Sagaing Region. He is a former military officer, with the rank of Major General and previously serving as SPDC’s Chief of Bureau of Special Operations 1 until a reshuffle on 27 August 2010. Tha Aye won an uncontested seat in the Sagaing Region Hluttaw during the 2010 Burmese general election, representing Budalin Township Constituency No. 2 under the Union Solidarity and Development Party banner. He was subsequently appointed to Chief Minister of Sagaing Region. Tha Aye was born on 16 February 1945. He is married to Wai Wai Khaing. Sagaing Region
Sagaing Region ( my, စစ်ကိုင်းတိုင်းဒေသကြီး, ; formerly Sagaing Division) is an administrative region of Myanmar, located in the north-western part of the country between latitude 21° 30' north and longitude 94° 97' east. Myint Naing ( my, မြင့်နိုင်) is a Burmese politician and former political prisoner who currently serves as Chief Minister of Sagaing Region and previously served as an Amyotha Hluttaw member of parliament for Sagaing Region Constituency № 3. In the 1990 Burmese general election, he was elected as an Pyithu Hluttaw MP, winning a majority of 30,628 (76% of the votes), but was never allowed to assume his seat. Major general (abbreviated MG, maj. gen. and similar) is a military rank used in many countries. It is derived from the older rank of sergeant major general.
