State Route 258 (SR 258) is a 14.1 mile north–south secondary highway that traverses portions of Robertson and Sumner counties in Middle Tennessee. It is the most direct route from White House to Hendersonville. Route description SR 258 begins in Sumner County in downtown Hendersonville at a junction with U.S. Route 31E (US 31E). It traverses and interchange with Vietnam Veterans Boulevard ( SR 386, Exit 6) on the north side of town. It road bisects SR 174 (Long Hollow Pike) at Shackle Island. About later, it arrives at a junction with US 31W, which also marks the Robertson–Sumner county line, at White House. SR 258 ends at a junction with SR 76 between the US 31W and Interstate 65 (I-65) corridors on the Robertson County side of White House. Hendersonville, Tennessee
Hendersonville is the largest city in Sumner County, Tennessee, on Old Hickory Lake. The population was 61,753 at the 2020 census. Hendersonville is the fourth-largest city in the Nashville metropolitan area after Nashville, Murfreesboro, and Franklin and the 10th largest in Tennessee. Hendersonville is located 18 miles northeast of downtown Nashville. The city was settled around 1784 by Daniel Smith, whose house Rock Castle, completed in 1796, is maintained as an historic site. White House is a city in Robertson and Sumner counties in the United States state of Tennessee. The population was 12,982 at the 2020 census. It is approximately twenty-two miles north of downtown Nashville. History Settlers The area that is now White House was purchased around 1828 by Richard Stone Wilks, a settler from Virginia. A trail running from Kentucky to Nashville, originally created by Native Americans, cut through the area. This trail was originally known as the Louisville & Nashville Turnpike during the mid-19th century. In 1928, the trail was renamed US Highway 31W. State Route 386 (SR 386) is a major east–west state route, signed north-south, located in Davidson and Sumner counties in Tennessee. It is known as Vietnam Veterans Boulevard and serves as a bypass for U.S. Highway 31E (US 31E) and a connector to Hendersonville and Gallatin from Nashville. State Route 174 (SR 174) is a secondary east–west state highway in northern Middle Tennessee. It traverses northern Davidson and much of Sumner counties. Route description Goodlettsville to Gallatin SR 174 begins in Davidson County in Goodlettsville at an intersection with the US 41/US 31W/ SR 41. From that point to the Gallatin city limit, road bears the name Long Hollow Pike. It goes east as a four-lane undivided highway to have an interchange with I-65 (Exit 97) before entering Sumner County.
