''The Telegraphist'' () is a 1993 Norwegian film directed by Erik Gustavson. It is based on the novel ''Dreamers'' by Knut Hamsun. It stars Bjørn Floberg and Marie Richardson, as well as Kjersti Holmen, who won an Amanda for her role. The film was also entered into the 43rd Berlin International Film Festival. Bjørn Floberg
Bjørn Floberg (born 12 September 1947) is a Norwegian actor of film, television and theatre. He is particularly noted for playing unsympathetic authority figures, but he has also had success playing other types of roles. Career Theatre Floberg joined Det Norske Teatret (The Norwegian Theatre) in 1972, appearing in such plays as '' The Caretaker'', '' When You Comin' Back, Red Ryder?'', ''Long Day's Journey into Night'', and ''Saint Joan of the Stockyards''. Particularly notable roles include Molière in Mikhail Bulgakov's ''The Cabal of Hypocrites'', the title role in ''Volpone'', and Jean in ''Miss Julie''. In recent years he has played various roles at Nationaltheatret, including Devlin in '' Ashes to Ashes'' and Professor Kroll in ''Rosmersholm''. Floberg is particularly fond of Harold Pinter. Kjersti Holmen
Kjersti Holmen (8 February 1956 – 26 September 2021) was a Norwegian actress. She was born on Nøtterøy, and later moved to Alnabru, where she grew up with her parents and two sisters. She graduated from the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre in 1980, and was employed at the National Theatre since 1981 – permanently since 1992. There she had roles such as "Eliza Doolittle" in George Bernard Shaw's '' Pygmalion'', the title role in Henrik Ibsen's ''Hedda Gabler'' and "Blanche" in Tennessee Williams' ''A Streetcar Named Desire''. Holmen was also a well-known television and film actress, and had her break-through on the big screen in the 1985 film '' Orions belte''. She won the Amanda – the main Norwegian film award – twice: in 1993 for her role in ''Telegrafisten'', and in 2000 for the two films '' S.O.S.'' and ''Sophie's World''. Jarl Kulle
Jarl Lage Kulle (28 February 1927 – 3 October 1997) was a Swedish film and stage actor and director, and father of Maria Kulle. Kulle was born in the village of Truedstorp, outside Ekeby, Sweden, and was the son of the merchant Nils Kulle and Mia Bergendahl. Kulle was one of the leading Swedish stage actors of his generation and often appeared in TV productions, at the Royal Dramatic Theatre of Stockholm as well as in a number of films, several of these directed by Ingmar Bergman. Taking on many star parts of the classical and modern repertory, appearing in contemporary TV drama and musicals and armed with remarkable gifts for both comedy, romantic drama and slightly declamatory but controlled pathos, he was one of Sweden's most loved modern actors. The 43rd annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from 11 to 22 February 1993. The Golden Bear was jointly awarded to American-Taiwanese film '' The Wedding Banquet'' directed by Ang Lee and Chinese film '' Woman Sesame Oil Maker'' directed by Xie Fei. The retrospective dedicated to CinemaScope was shown at the festival. Bjørn Sundquist
Bjørn Richard Sundquist (born 16 June 1948) is a Norwegian actor, famous for TV, theatre, and movie roles. For many years he worked at Det Norske Teatret and Nationaltheateret in Oslo. Sundquist is especially famous for the roles as Merlin and Hamlet. When he received the Honorary Amanda Award (Norway's answer to Oscar) in 2000, he became the youngest ever recipient of the greatest honor in Norwegian film. He was 52 at the time and only a few months younger than Liv Ullmann, who received the honorary award in 1992. He is of Sami heritage on his mother's side (a minority originating mainly from the northern parts of the Scandinavian peninsula often referred to as Sápmi).
