Tegenpartij
The Tegenpartij (''Counterparty'', but also ''opponent'') was a Dutch fictional political party, founded in 1979 by the Dutch comedic duo Van Kooten en De Bie. They played the characters Jacobse and Van Es, two ''vrije jongens'' (''free guys'', literally), played by respectively Kees van Kooten and Wim de Bie. Jacobse and Van Es were originally two scoundrels, who eventually founded their own political party: The Tegenpartij. They described it as ''the party for all Dutchmen who can no longer stand the Netherlands''. Van Kooten and De Bie were trying to fight the populist tendencies of some of the other parties with their parody, but things turned out a bit differently: the Tegenpartij became so popular that it might well have gained several seats in parliament if it had actually taken part in elections. Van Kooten En De Bie
Van Kooten en De Bie were a Dutch comedy duo formed by Kees van Kooten and Wim de Bie. They started performing together in 1963. They started off as radio comedians, but gained more prominence from 1966 on by working for television. In 1974 they began a weekly TV sketch show on Sunday evenings, "Het Simplisties Verbond", broadcast on VPRO, which continued for three decades under various titles, while remaining the same concept, until finally coming to a close in 1998. Despite the varying titles of their TV show the general audience always referred to them as ''Van Kooten en De Bie''. In the Dutch-speaking world Van Kooten en De Bie enjoy both a high popularity and critical acclaim for their satirical portrayal of society, with numerous classic sketches and comedy characters. Kees Van Kooten
Cornelis Reinier "Kees" van Kooten (; born 10 August 1941) is a Dutch comedian, television actor, and writer. He formed the duo Van Kooten & De Bie with Wim de Bie from 1972 to 1998. Biography Cornelis Reinier van Kooten was born on 10 August 1941 in The Hague, Netherlands. He is the oldest child of Cornelis Reinier van Kooten en Anna Geertruida Snaauw. He has one sister, Anke, who is a year younger. He met his wife Barbara Kits in 1959 and married her on 18 October 1968. After their marriage they moved from The Hague to the polder village of Zuidoostbeemster, where their two children were born, Kasper in 1971 and Kim in 1974. Both children are well-known performers in the Netherlands. In 1978 the family moved to Hilversum and in 1996 to Amsterdam. Van Kooten is best known for his collaboration with Wim de Bie. Wim De Bie
Willem Philippe "Wim" de Bie (; 17 May 1939 – 27 March 2023) was a Dutch comedian, writer and singer. He formed the comedy duo Van Kooten en De Bie with Kees van Kooten. Life and career Willem Philippe de Bie was born on 17 May 1939 in The Hague, Netherlands. He went to the Dalton Plan, Dalton Lyceum in The Hague, where he followed a Hogere Burgerschool, HBS program. At this school he met Kees van Kooten, with whom he would form the comedy duo Van Kooten en De Bie. De Bie made several radio and television shows. He also wrote several books and drew some comics. From 2002 on, De Bie was active as a blogger. De Bie died of Parkinson's disease in The Hague, on 27 March 2023, at the age of 83. The Binnenhof (; ) is a complex of buildings in the city centre of The Hague, Netherlands, next to the Hofvijver (Court Pond).
