Tayyab Agha
Sayyid Muhammad Tayyab Agha (, ''Sayyid Muḥammad Ṭayyab Āghā''; born 1976) is a prominent figure in the Afghan Taliban. He was the head of the political wing of the Taliban from 2009 to 2015 and was a close aide to Taliban founder Mohammed Omar. During the Taliban government of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (1996–2001), he served as chief of staff to Omar, as well as his personal secretary, translator, and press spokesman. Agha was born in 1976 in Jelahor village, Arghandab District, Kandahar Province and belongs to a prominent religious family from the Sayyid tribe. He speaks English, Arabic, Urdu, and Persian, in addition to Pashto. In early 2010 Agha met Bernd Mützelburg, Germany's special envoy to Afghanistan, at a location in the Persian Gulf region. 2015 Zabul Beheading
The 2015 Zabul massacre refers to the killing of seven Afghan Shia Hazaras on 9 November 2015 in the southern Afghan province of Zabul. Hostage-taking and executions Fighters claiming allegiance to the Islamic State took seven members of the Hazara ethnic group hostage in October 2015 in Ghazni and held them in Arghandab District, Zabul Province. The hostages included four men, two women, and a nine-year-old girl, Shukria Tabassum. The hostages were moved 56 times to avoid their rescue by Afghan military forces. Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai ( ; born 1963) is an Afghan politician, a senior member of the Afghan Taliban and the country's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in the internationally unrecognized Taliban regime from 7 September 2021 to 27 January 2025. He was an officer in the Afghan Army after training at an army academy in India. He defected from the army and joined Islamic movements to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan. He was a deputy cabinet minister in the first Taliban government. He has been a senior member of the Taliban's political office in Doha since it was set up in 2012, and was its head from 2015 to 2020. Akhtar Mansour
Akhtar Mohammad Mansour (196821 May 2016) was an Afghan militant leader who served as the second supreme leader of the Taliban. Succeeding the founding leader, Mullah Omar, he was the supreme leader from July 2015 to May 2016, when he was killed in a US drone strike in Balochistan, Pakistan. United States president Barack Obama stated that Mansour was killed because he was planning attacks on US targets in Kabul. Obama hoped Mansour's death would lead to the Taliban joining a peace process. Personal life Mansour was born sometime during either 1960, 1963, 1965 or 1968.
