Tavistock Braves
The Tavistock Braves are a Junior ice hockey team based in Tavistock, Ontario, Canada. They currently play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association. History During the 1981-82 season Tavistock finished first overall in regular season league play for the first time in franchise history. In 1982-83 the feat was repeated and was upstaged with the first and only OHA Cup in franchise history. In 1986-87 and 1987-88 Tavistock would once again post back-to-back first overall regular season finishes. However, in both seasons they would fall short of the OHA Cup. After suffering relative mediocrity through the 1990s Tavistock would return as a power in the 2000s. In the early 2000s Tavistock was consistently held just short of a championship by a pair of Hawks. Provincial Junior Hockey League
The Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) is a Canadian junior ice hockey, junior ice hockey league spanning parts of Southern Ontario. The PJHL is the third tier of the Ontario Hockey Association and is sanctioned by the Ontario Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada. The league was formed in 2016 with the merging of eight Junior C leagues. PJHL teams compete for the Clarence Schmalz Cup. History In the works since 2014, it was announced in the spring of 2016 that the eight Junior C leagues of the Ontario Hockey Association would merge for the 2016-17 season to create the Provincial Junior Hockey League. The union was in an effort to streamline rules across the classification and to promote growth and development. Ayr Centennials
The Ayr Centennials are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team based in Ayr, Ontario. They play in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association. History The Ayr Centennials were founded in 1982 as members of the Southern Junior D Hockey League. Clarence Eby, whose son and grandson would become heavily involved with the team, was a founding member of the club in 1982. In 1985, Eby's son Don started volunteering with the club. Don's legacy with the team began when son Scott started playing for the team at the age of 15, but Don's wife Julie waited a few years before joining her husband, taking over for her father-in-law Clarence as treasurer. Working in many capacities with the team, the pair ran the Cens' operations through most of the 1990s, which included paying the team's bills. Glanbrook Rangers
The Glanbrook Rangers are a Junior ice hockey team based in Glanbrook, Ontario, Canada. They are playing in the Provincial Junior Hockey League. The Rangers are only the second Ontario Hockey Association team to have claimed three consecutive Clarence Schmalz Cups as Junior C champions, winning in 1997, 1998, and 1999. The Rangers have continued to dominate the league including the Grimsby Peach Kings. The Woodstock Navy-Vets are a junior hockey team based in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. They are members of the Provincial Junior Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association. The team was known as the Woodstock Renegades for three seasons from 2007–08 to 2009–10. The team was preceded by the Woodstock Warriors who were an OHA Junior B team in the Central and Western leagues from 1951–52 to 1961–62, winning the Sutherland Cup emblematic of Provincial Junior B Champions in the 1954–55 season with a team that included future NHL player and Hall of Famer Bobby Hull. The Paris Mounties are a junior hockey team based in Paris, Ontario, Canada. They were members of the Midwestern Junior C Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association until the 2016-17 season when it became the Pat Dougherty Division of the Central Conference of the Provincial Junior Hockey League. History The Mounties came about in the wake of the folding of the Intermediate "B" Paris '29ers. The Port Dover Sailors are a junior hockey team based in Port Dover, Ontario, Canada. Hagersville Hawks
The Hagersville Hawks are a Junior ice hockey team from Hagersville, Ontario, Canada. They are members of the Provincial Junior Hockey League in the Ontario Hockey Association. History The Hagersville Hawks were founded in 1992. The town was previously represented by the Hagersville Flyers of the Niagara & District Junior C Hockey League. The Exeter Hawks are a Junior ice hockey team based in Exeter, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association. History The Exeter Hawks were founded in 1961 as members of the Shamrock Junior D Hockey League. In the late sixties, the Hawks jumped to the Bluewater Junior Hockey League for a short stint. In 1969, the Shamrock league changed its name to the Western Junior D Hockey League. In 1970–71, the Hawks won the Western League and made it all the way to the OHA provincial championship. The Burford Bulldogs were a Canadian Junior Hockey team based in Burford, Ontario, Canada. They played in the Provincial Junior Hockey League. History The Burford Bulldogs were founded in 1988 after a long layoff of junior hockey in the town of Burford. The previous team to play in Burford was the Burford Knights in the mid to late 1970s. As members of the new Southern Ontario merger Western Junior D Hockey League, the Bulldogs found themselves sandwiched in with 17 other teams. The Lucan Irish are a Junior ice hockey team based in Lucan Biddulph, Ontario. They play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association. History The Irish were founded in 1968 as the Lucan Irish Six, named after the Black Donnellys. In 1982, the Irish won the Western Ontario Junior D Hockey League's championship. Wellesley Applejacks
The Wellesley Apple Jacks are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team based in Wellesley, Ontario. They play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association. History The Wellesley Apple Jacks joined the Western Junior D Hockey League in 1987. A year later, the Western League absorbed the Southern Junior D Hockey League. They operated under the Western moniker for three more years. In 1991, the Western League was dissolved and the OHA Junior Development League was created.
