Tappi Iwase
, sometimes credited professionally as TAPPY, is a Japanese musical composer. He is best known for his contributions to the ''Metal Gear'' and ''Suikoden'' franchises. Iwase studied music with Dick Grove at the Grove School of Music prior to its closure in 1991. Iwase is credited with composing all of the music for Metal Gear Solid, with the exception of the ending theme "The Best Is Yet to Come", whereas the music for the cinematic scenes was composed by Gigi Meroni. This includes the well-known main theme to ''Metal Gear Solid'', arrangements of which were subsequently used in '' Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty'' and '' Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater''. Metal Gear
is a series of techno-thriller stealth games created by Hideo Kojima. Developed and published by Konami, the first game, ''Metal Gear (video game), Metal Gear'', was released in 1987 for MSX, MSX home computers. Suikoden
is a series of role-playing video games created by Yoshitaka Murayama. The games are loosely based on the classical Chinese novel ''Water Margin'', whose title is rendered as in Japanese. Each individual game centers on themes of politics, corruption, revolution, mystical crystals known as ''True Runes'', and the "108 Stars of Destiny"—the 108 protagonists who are loosely interpreted from the source material. Although the events of the games are not chronological, the entire series (except for ''Tierkreis'' and ''Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki'') takes place within the same world, among continuing and overlapping histories. Dick Grove
Richard Dean Grove (1927 – December 26, 1998) was an American musician, composer, arranger, and educator. He is best known as the founder of the Dick Grove School of Music. Its students include Michael Jackson, Linda Ronstadt, and Barry Manilow, and its teachers Henry Mancini, Bill Conti, and Lalo Schifrin. Grove was born in Lakeville, Indiana. At the University of Denver he studied music and then taught piano locally. In 1957 he moved to Los Angeles and taught at the Westlake School of Music. Westlake concentrated on the Schillinger System, which served as a basis for the first curricula at Berklee School of Music (which was called the Schillinger House of Music). The Sons of Liberty was a loosely organized clandestine political organization active in the Thirteen American Colonies founded to advance the rights of the colonists and to fight taxation by the British government. Georgy Vasilyevich Sviridov ( Russian: Гео́ргий Васи́льевич Свири́дов ; 16 December 1915 – 6 January 1998) was a Soviet and Russian neoromantic composer.
