Talim Hossain
Talim Hossain (29 October 1918 – 21 February 1999) was a Bangladeshi poet. He was the founder of Nazrul Academy in Dhaka. He was the editor of the literary magazine ''Mahe Nao'' in the 1960s. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1982 by the Government of Bangladesh for his contribution to Bengali literature. Career Hossain was a Nazrul exponent. Along with musician Sudhin Das, he took the initiative to formulate Swaralipi of Nazrul Sangeet for the first time. He wrote books including "Dishari", "Shahin" and "Nuher Jahaj". A 500-page complete works of Hossain, "Kavita Samagra", was released in 1999. A foundation by Hossain, "Poet Talim Hossain Trust", awards researchers and practitioners on Nazrul annually since 1998. Naogaon District ( bn, নওগাঁ, Nôugã) is a district in northern Bangladesh, part of the Rajshahi Division. It is named after its headquarters, the city of Naogaon in Naogaon Sadar Upazila. Demographics According to the 2022 Census of Bangladesh, Naogaon District had a population of 2,784,598, of which 13,74,312 were males and 14,08,840 females. Nazrul Academy is an academic research institution devoted to the study of the national poet of Bangladesh, Kazi Nazrul Islam, and his works including Nazrul Geeti. Ekushey Padak
Ekushey Padak ( bn, একুশে পদক; lit. "Twentyfirst Award") is the second highest civilian award in Bangladesh, introduced in memory of the martyrs of the Bengali Language Movement of 1952. The award is given to recognize contributions in a number of fields, including culture, education, and economics. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs administers the award. The award consists of an 18 carat gold medal weighing 3 tolas and a certificate of honour. The medal was designed by the artist Nitun Kundu. The amount of the cash reward was originally ৳ 25,000, but it was subsequently increased to ৳ 100,000 in 2015. Next it was increased to tk 2,00,000 in 2017 and to tk 4,00,000 as of November 2019. Sudhin Das
Sudhin Das (; 30 April 1930 – 27 June 2017) was a Bangladeshi Nazrul Sangeet musician. He was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life and career Das was born in Bagichagaon, Comilla, to Nishi Kanta Das and Hemprabha Das on 30 April 1930. Das started learning music at Sangeet Shikhharthee Sammilan in Comilla, established by his elder brother Suren Das in 1942. Das was enlisted in Radio Pakistan when he was a college student in 1948. In 1985, after finishing his learning, Das moved to Dhaka and joined as a member of the ''Nazrul Sangeet Promanikoron Board'' at Nazrul Institute. He taught Nazrul Sangeet to the young artists of the institute. Personal life Das was married to Neelima Das. She is also an artist of Nazrul Sangeet. Nazrul Sangeet ( bn, নজরুল সঙ্গীত), also Nazrul Geeti ( bn, নজরুল গীতি; ), refers to the songs written and composed by Kazi Nazrul Islam, the national poet of Bangladesh.
