Talacre Railway Station
Talacre railway station served the village of Talacre, near Prestatyn on the North Wales Coast Line. History The station was opened in 1903 by the London and North Western Railway. Platforms were provided on the slow lines only. The station closed in February 1966, as part of the cost-saving reforms introduced by Dr Beeching. Following closure parts of the platforms (in 2020) were still in situ. Prestatyn railway station on the North Wales Coast Line serves the town of Prestatyn in North Wales. The station was built on the Chester and Holyhead Railway (CHR) line and opened on 1 May 1848. The coming of the railway is credited with bringing large numbers of tourists and prosperity to the town. When the CHR was acquired by the London & North Western Railway (LNWR), further expansion occurred at Prestatyn and the station became a junction for a branch line to Dyserth. In the 1890s, the LNWR built the current station. Passenger numbers dipped significantly during the mid 20th century. Mostyn Railway Station
Mostyn railway station was located roughly north west of Mostyn, a village in Flintshire, Wales. History Situated on the A548 it was opened on 1 May 1848 as part of the Chester and Holyhead Railway (now the North Wales Coast Line). On 1 January 1859 ownership of the line and station passed into the hands of the London and North Western Railway and in 1923 it became part of the London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) until nationalisation in 1948 and the creation of British Railways (London Midland Region), from 1965 rebranded British Rail. Talacre is a village in Flintshire on the north coast of Wales in the community of Llanasa and the electoral ward of Ffynnongroyw, and is the northernmost mainland settlement in Wales.
