Taj Mohammad Sr.
Taj Mohammad (; born 1924) also known as Taj Lala or Taj Senior, was a footballer who played as a defender. Born in the Quetta district in the Baluchistan Agency in British India (present-day Pakistan), he represented India during the 1948 Summer Olympics. Early life Belonging to the Tareen tribe of ethnic Pashtuns, Mohammad was born in 1924 in Killa Batezai in the Quetta district (modern-day Pishin district) of Baluchistan Agency of British India. Playing career Mohammad started his youth career with Prince Club of Quetta in which he played for 6 years. In 1940, when he toured Lucknow with the Hazara Club and represented the Sandemans Club in the Rovers Cup in Bombay, he was called up by Kolkata Mohammedan where he formed a formidable defence along with Balochistan fellow Jumma Khan. The Rovers Cup was an annual football tournament held in India, organized by the Western India Football Association. Incorporated in 1890, it was the third oldest tournament in India after Trades Cup. History Rovers Cup was incorporated by some British football enthusiasts in Bombay, Bombay Presidency, in 1890, as a form of amusement. After the foundation of Bombay Football Association (BFA) in 1902, the tournament became well organized. Patronised by Justice Russell, the tournament was firstly opened to British teams. Later in 1911, Western India Football Association was founded as a result of merger between BFA and Rovers Cup Committee. After justice Russel became president and P. R. Pishin (, ), IPA: pʂin/pçin, is a district in the Balochistan province of Pakistan. District Pishin is located at a strategic point and is 45km² from the provincial headquarters, Quetta. In 1975, it was bifurcated from Quetta District, while in 1993 part of it was split off to form the new district of Killa Abdullah. Again in 2022, part of it created the new district of Karezat.
