Taiwan Rolling Stock Company
Taiwan Rolling Stock Company (TRSC) is a rail vehicle company. TRSC is located in Hukou, Hsinchu County, near Xinfeng railway station. It was previously a rolling stock production division of Tang Eng Iron Works before 2002. After privatization, the company received several orders from Taiwan Railways Administration and also Kawasaki Heavy Industries. For example, some vehicles (type C371, C381) of the Taipei Metro system were built by TRSC. TRSC cooperated with Nippon Sharyo in several products, such as DHL100, Alishan Forest locomotive, EMU700, EMU800. There was a dispute regarding the EMU800 at its beginning stage. The brake system differed from specifications because the supplier made a mistake on the type of brake system. After the dispute was solved, the TRSC started to deliver EMU800 trains to the Taiwan Railways Administration. Hukou, Hsinchu
Hukou Township () is a Township (Taiwan), rural township of Hsinchu County, Taiwan. With an area of , it is the third largest township in the county. China Steel Corporation (CSC; ) is the largest integrated steel maker in Taiwan. Its main steel mill is located in Siaogang District, Kaohsiung. The corporation and its sister companies are administrated under the CSC Group. The Danhai light rail (, also known as Tamhai light rail) is a light rail transit (LRT) line in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. It opened on 23 December 2018 and began service the following day. EMU800 Series
The EMU800 is a series of electric multiple unit train used by the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA). Introduction The EMU800 series was purchased in response to increasing passenger volume and electrification of branch lines, which diverted older commuter EMUs. At 296 cars, the order is the second-largest ever placed by TRA. The first two EMU800 trains were built by Nippon Sharyo, and the remaining 35 were built by the Taiwan Rolling Stock Company from 2013 to 2015. At the beginning there was a dispute over the braking system. After years of negotiation, TRA accepted the proposal and the EMU800 began to service. The Taoyuan Metro 1000 series, also referred to as Commuter Trains, are the electric multiple unit train types that are used for the all-stop Commuter services on the Taoyuan Airport MRT. Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), commonly known as the Airport MRT, is a rapid transit line of the Taoyuan Metro that connects Taipei, Taoyuan and New Taipei with Taoyuan International Airport in northern Taiwan. Taipei Metro C381
The Taipei Metro C381 is the fifth and the latest generation of heavy-capacity electric multiple unit trains on the Taipei Metro in Taipei, Taiwan. A total of 144 train cars were jointly built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries and the Taiwan Rolling Stock Company, and began operation in 2012. The Taipei Metro C371 is the fourth generation of heavy-capacity rolling stock used on the Taipei Metro in Taipei, Taiwan. Built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Taiwan Rolling Stock Company between 2005 and 2009, it was introduced on the Tamsui, Xindian, and Zhonghe Lines in 2006 and on the Xinbeitou and Xiaobitan branch lines in 2007. EMU700 Series
The EMU700 is a series of electric multiple unit train used by the Taiwan Railways Administration. The TRA purchased 160 cars of the series. It was constructed by Nippon Sharyo and Taiwan Rolling Stock Company and began operations on 20 November 2007. The EMU700 adopts current rules of Taiwan Railway Administration known as RAMS: Reliability; Availability; Maintainability; System Safety. This train series operates as "Local Train" and "Local Express", using the pricing of NT$1.46 per km and person fare system identical to the Fuhsing Semi Express. Sometimes during the holidays it operates as "non-reserved " through train.
