Taibon Agordino
Taibon Agordino is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the province of Belluno in the Italian region of Veneto, located about north of Venice and about northwest of Belluno. Many of the homes in Taibon have descended within families. It is common for younger generations to move out of the valley to a larger city for the purpose of building a career and subsequently return for retirement. Taibon was once populated by homesteaders who were self-sufficient, making their own dairy products, sausage, and polenta as their source of carbohydrates. Today these family homes are treasured because of the family history they represent, but also because they are adjacent to some of the best trekking, skiing, and road cycling in the world. Canale d'Agordo (known as Forno di Canale until 1964; Ladin: ''Canal'', German: ''Augartnerkanal'') is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Belluno, in the region of Veneto, northern Italy. Giardino Alpino "Antonio Segni"
The Giardino Alpino "Antonio Segni" (5,000 m2) is an alpine botanical garden located at 1,714 meters altitude in Refugio Vazzoler, Gruppo del Civetta, Col Negro di Pelsa, Taibon Agordino, Province of Belluno, Veneto, Italy. It is privately owned with a municipal affiliation, and open daily when Refugio Vazzoler is open. The garden was established in 1968 in the Dolomites, and named after Italian President Antonio Segni (1891-1972). Its mission is to educate hikers and the general public about the most important species of trees, shrubs, and grasses of the Alps and Dolomites, particularly those of the garden's local environment near the Massif Moiazza-Civetta. The garden consists of natural areas, man-made wetlands, and three small rock gardens. To the west Alleghe borders with Alleghe Lake, which was formed in 1771 by a landslide from the adjacent Mount Piz.
