Tacoma Stars
The Tacoma Stars are an American professional indoor soccer team based in Tacoma, Washington, that competes in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). The franchise also operates in USL League Two, a minor outdoor league. Founded in 2003, the indoor team plays its home games at ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington. First playing in 2024, the outdoor men's team and outdoor women's team, the Tacoma Galaxy, play home games at Bellarmine Preparatory School in Tacoma. The club also fields an indoor women's side under the Tacoma Galaxy name. The club fields two reserve teams both with the name Tacoma Stars Reserves, in the indoor WISL junior league, and the outdoor youth Cascadia Premier League. Accesso ShoWare Center
The accesso ShoWare Center is a multi-purpose arena in the Northwestern United States, located in Kent, Washington, a suburb south of Seattle. About the venue Construction began in September 2007, and the venue opened in January 2009. The principal tenants are the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League (WHL) and the Tacoma Stars of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). Naming rights to the arena were initially sold to Amiga, Inc. and the arena was to be called the "Amiga Center". However, Amiga failed to make a promised down payment, and lost the naming rights as of August 2007. In November 2008, the Kent City Council announced that the city had sold the naming rights to the Fresno, California, Fresno-based VisionOne, Inc., an e-business software development, software developer which in turn named the arena after ShoWare, its flagship box office operations program. The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is an American men's association football, soccer league. The league is officially affiliated to the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and has automatic qualification for the U.S. Open Cup. It is the successor of the Men's Premier Soccer League, a regional league originally based in the Western United States, which has now expanded nationwide to encompass teams from 29 states. 2014–15 Seattle Impact Season
The 2014–15 Seattle Impact season was the only season of the Seattle Impact professional indoor soccer club. The Impact, a Pacific Division team in the Major Arena Soccer League, played their home games in the ShoWare Center in the Seattle suburb of Kent, Washington. The Impact were led by owner, player, and head coach Dion Earl. After struggles on and off the field, the team's assets were sold to Lane Smith and his Tacoma Stars completed the Impact's schedule. Seattle Impact FC was an American professional indoor soccer team that began play as a member of the Major Arena Soccer League with its 2014-15 season. Based in Seattle, Washington, the Impact played its home games at the ShoWare Center in nearby Kent. After struggles on and off the field, the team's assets were sold mid-season to Lane Smith whose Tacoma Stars completed Seattle's scheduled 2015 regular season games. Joe Waters
Joseph Waters (born 20 September 1953) is an Irish former professional footballer who played in England and the United States. He lives in the United States where he coaches Tacoma Stars of PASL and youth soccer teams. Player Club Waters grew up in Limerick, Ireland where he was an outstanding athlete with the Limerick Athletic Club. He played gaelic football with the Old Christians GAA Club and hurling with CBS Sexton Street. He began his soccer career with Wembley Rovers, and briefly played for Pike Rovers before returning to Wembley. In April 1969, he joined Leicester City F.C. In December 1973, he signed a professional contract with Leicester City, but had difficulty cracking the first team. The 2012–13 Tacoma Stars season was the third season of the Tacoma Stars (2003), Tacoma Stars professional indoor soccer club as a franchise in the Professional Arena Soccer League. The Stars, a Pacific Division team, played their home games in the new Pacific Sports Center in Tacoma, Washington. The team was led by head coach Joe Waters. Season summary The team had mixed results in the regular season, finishing 8–8, including the forfeit of their final scheduled game against the Sacramento Surge (PASL), Sacramento Surge.
