2012–13 Tacoma Stars Season
The 2012–13 Tacoma Stars season was the third season of the Tacoma Stars (2003), Tacoma Stars professional indoor soccer club as a franchise in the Professional Arena Soccer League. The Stars, a Pacific Division team, played their home games in the new Pacific Sports Center in Tacoma, Washington. The team was led by head coach Joe Waters. Season summary The team had mixed results in the regular season, finishing 8–8, including the forfeit of their final scheduled game against the Sacramento Surge (PASL), Sacramento Surge. The team struggled on the road with 6 of their 8 wins coming at home. Still, the Stars placed third in the PASL's five-team Pacific Division and only narrowly failed to qualify for the postseason. Tacoma Stars (2003)
The Tacoma Stars are an American professional indoor soccer team based in Tacoma, Washington, that competes in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). The franchise also operates in USL League Two, a minor outdoor league. Founded in 2003, the indoor team plays its home games at ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington. First playing in 2024, the outdoor men's team and outdoor women's team, the Tacoma Galaxy, play home games at Bellarmine Preparatory School in Tacoma. The club also fields an indoor women's side under the Tacoma Galaxy name. The club fields two reserve teams both with the name Tacoma Stars Reserves, in the indoor WISL junior league, and the outdoor youth Cascadia Premier League. Tacoma ( ) is the county seat of Pierce County, Washington, United States. ''Tacoma Weekly'' is a weekly community newspaper published by Matt Nagle. The paper started in 1987 as the ''Tacoma Monthly'' and in 1994 became the ''Tacoma Weekly''. The free newspaper is distributed on Thursdays to hundreds of businesses and public spaces in the Tacoma area. It has used a broadsheet format since 2001. Controversies In a recent two-year period, publisher John Weymer paid $9,157.06 in wage theft claims that were filed against him at the Washington Department of Labor and Industries. Since 1995, Weymer has accumulated over $170,000 in judgements against himself and his business. Turlock Soccer Complex
Turlock is a city in Stanislaus County, California, United States. Its population was 72,740 at the 2020 United States census, making it the second-largest city in Stanislaus County after Modesto. History Founded on December 22, 1871, by prominent grain farmer John William Mitchell, the town consisted of a post office, a depot, a grain warehouse and a few other buildings. The San Diego Sockers are an American professional indoor soccer team based in San Diego County, California, that competes in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). The team plays its home games at Frontwave Arena. The Sockers began play in the 2009–2010 season. History 1978–1996 The original San Diego Sockers began as the Baltimore Comets in 1974 but moved to San Diego as the San Diego Jaws in 1976. After a one-year stay in Las Vegas as the Las Vegas Quicksilvers, the team returned as the San Diego Sockers in 1978.
