Csaba Szűcs (born 29 January 1965 in Kiskunfélegyháza, Bács-Kiskun) is a retired Hungarian athlete, who specialized in the long-distance running events. He represented his native Central European country at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, where he did not finish the race. He was the winner of the 1989 Italian Marathon and also won the Lille Marathon in 1993. Lajos Szűcs (10 December 1943 – 12 July 2020) was a Hungarians, Hungarian Association football, football defender, who played for Dorogi FC, Dorog, Ferencváros, Budapest Honvéd FC and Tungsram SC, Vasas Izzó. He won a gold medal in football at the 1968 Summer Olympics and a silver medal in football at the 1972 Summer Olympics, and also participated in UEFA Euro 1972 for the Hungary national football team. He was Hungarian footballer of the year in 1968 and 1971. Personal life He was born in Apatin, Kingdom of Hungary (1920–46), Kingdom of Hungary (today in Serbia). Szuć () is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Jedwabno, within Szczytno County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. Sándor Szűcs (23 November 1921 – 4 June 1951) was a Hungarian football player. He was a defender for Szolnoki MÁV and Újpest FC, with whom he was a three-time league champion in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I. He had 19 appearances for Hungary from 1941 to 1948. In 1951, he was executed for an attempted defection to Austria. Biography Szűcs was born in Szolnok in 1921. He began his career with his local club, Szolnoki MÁV, at the age of 17. In 1944, he moved to Újpest FC where he played alongside Ferenc Szusza and Gyula Zsengellér. In 1940, he made his first appearance for the Hungarian national youth team.
