Stanisław Sylwester Szarzyński
Stanisław Sylwester Szarzyński (fl. 1692–1713) was a Polish composer. Szarzyński was a Cistercian monk; virtually nothing else is known of his life. He may have been involved with the choir of the Collegiate Church at Lowicz, where many of his compositions were preserved. His works are dated from 1692 to 1713, and the level of technical competence displayed in his works indicates that he must have had significant formal training. All but one of his surviving works are sacred in nature. He wrote solo motets for voice, violin, and continuo, which are in concertato style. He also wrote a number of choral works. Many of his pieces interpolate melodies from popular religious tunes. His lone surviving nonreligious work is a sonata Sonata (; Italian: , pl. Sylwester Bednarek
Sylwester Bednarek ( ; born 28 April 1989) is a Polish high jumper. He won the bronze medal at the 2009 World Championships and gold at the 2017 European Indoor Championships. Life and career Bednarek was born in Łódź. He finished fourth at the 2005 World Youth Championships and the 2006 World Junior Championships, finished sixth at the 2007 European Junior Championships and won the silver medal at the 2008 World Junior Championships. He also competed at the 2009 European Indoor Championships without reaching the final. He underwent knee surgery due to an injury in 2010 and returned to competition. He was tenth at the 2010 European Athletics Championships but pain persisted in his knee into the 2011 season and he decided to undergo further surgery with an eye on being in his best shape for the 2012 London Olympics. Sylwester Braun (code-name "Kris", 1 January 1909, Warsaw – 2 February 1996, Warsaw) was a Polish photographer, Home Army officer. He is known as the author of photography evidencing the Nazi Occupation of Poland and the Warsaw Uprising. Braun was born on 1 January 1909 in Warsaw. During the Warsaw Uprising he took 3000 photographs of battles, people, destruction, and everyday life in the fighting city. Generally he operated in the Śródmieście district. After the capitulation of Warsaw, he escaped from the city, returning in January 1945 to retrieve his negatives. After that he fled to Sweden, and in 1964 he immigrated to the United States. Sylwester Chęciński (21 May 1930, Skwarki – 8 December 2021, Wrocław) was a Polish film and television director. He was born in Susiec, Poland, on 21 May 1930. Chęciński died in Wrocław on 8 December 2021, at the age of 91. Biography Chęciński was born 21 May 1930 in Skwarki. In 1950, he graduated from the 1st Secondary School of General Education named after Jędrzej Śniadeckiego in Dzierżoniów, and in 1956 the Directing Department of the State Film School in Łódź. He is best known for the trilogy Sami swoi, Nie ma mocnych and Kochaj albo rzuć. He directed his first film ''Historia żółtej ciżemki'' in 1961. In the years 1976–1980 he was the deputy artistic director of the film group "Iluzjon", and in the years 1988–1991 the deputy artistic director of the film group "Kadr". Sylwester Arkadiusz Chruszcz (born 22 August 1972, in Głogów) is a Polish politician and Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the Lower Silesian Voivodship and Opole Voivodship with the Naprzód Polsko, part of the Union for Europe of the Nations and is member of the European Parliament's Committee on Transport and Tourism. Chruszcz is a substitute for the Committee on Regional Development and a member of the Delegation for relations with Canada. After the 2007 parliamentary election, when Liga lost all its seats in the Sejm and the Senat, its leader Roman Giertych resigned and announced his withdrawal from policy.
