Swift Current—Maple Creek—Assiniboia was a federal electoral district in Saskatchewan, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1988 to 1997. This riding was created in 1987 from parts of Swift Current—Maple Creek and Assiniboia ridings. The electoral district was abolished in 1996 when it was redistributed into Cypress Hills—Grasslands, Palliser and Souris—Moose Mountain ridings. The Progressive Conservative Party of Canada (PC; french: Parti progressiste-conservateur du Canada) was a centre-right federal political party in Canada that existed from 1942 to 2003. The 1988 Canadian federal election was held on November 21, 1988, to elect members to the House of Commons of Canada of the 34th Parliament of Canada. It was an election largely fought on a single issue: the Canada–United States Free Trade Agreement (CUSFTA); the Progressive Conservative Party campaigned in favour of it whereas the Liberal Party and the New Democratic Party (NDP) campaigned against it. Souris—Moose Mountain is a federal electoral district in Saskatchewan, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1988. Geography This electoral district is located in Southeast Saskatchewan, encompassing the cities of Weyburn and Estevan. The riding extends from Radville in the west to the Manitoba border, and from Estevan to Grenfell and the Qu'Appelle River in the north.
