Swatch FIVB World Tour 2007
The Swatch FIVB World Tour 2007 was an international beach volleyball competition. The tour consists of 12 tournaments with both genders and 10 separate gender tournaments. One of the tournaments, was the 2007 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Gstaad, Switzerland. Beach Volleyball
Beach volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of two or more players on a sand court divided by a net. Similar to indoor volleyball, the objective of the game is to send the ball over the net and to ground it on the opponent's side of the court. Each team also works in unison to prevent the opposing team from grounding the ball on their side of the court. Teams are allowed up to three touches to return the ball across the net, and individual players may not touch the ball twice consecutively except after a touch off an attempted block. Making a block touch leaves only two more touches before the ball must be hit over. The ball is put in play with a serve—a hit by the server from behind the rear court boundary over the net to the opponents. The receiving team typically uses their three touches to pass the ball, set it up for an attack, and then attack the ball by sending it back over the net. Zhang Xi (born 19 April 1985 in Jiangsu) is a Chinese female beach volleyball player, measuring in height. She won the gold medal in the women's team competition at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, partnering with comparator Xue Chen. Zhang Xi in 2002 and 2003 she played each game she was scheduled to play. Xue Chen (; born 18 February 1989 in Fuzhou, Fujian) is a Chinese beach volleyball player, measuring in height. Her hometown is Fuzhou, but she trains in Sanya, Hainan. She has also trained in California under coach Dane Selznick. She competed at the 2020 Olympics with X. Wang in Tokyo held in 2021. Talita Antunes da Rocha (born August 29, 1982) is a Brazilian beach volleyball player, playing as a blocker. She was FIVB rookie of the year in 2005, and World Tour Winner twice, in 2013 and 2015. Career Born in Aquidauana, Antunes caught the attention of Olympic Champion Jackie Silva at the age of 19. Wang Jie (; born 4 December 1983 in Ili, Xinjiang) is a female Chinese professional beach volleyball player. Career Wang has partnered with Tian Jia since the start of the 2006 season and they are currently fifth in the world rankings. She won four titles with Tian, most recently in Hong Kong in 2007.
