SuzyQ Doughnuts
SuzyQ Doughnuts is a small chain of doughnut shops located in Ottawa, Ontario. History The original location of the doughnut shop was opened in Ottawa's Hintonburg neighbourhood by Canada Post mailwoman Susan Hamer in spring 2012. In the years prior to opening the shop, Hamer made doughnuts in her home kitchen and sold them at the Lansdowne Park Farmer's Market and other craft fairs in the area. The initial Hintonburg location was a small, repurposed three-room wooden shack off a parking lot on Wellington Street West. With no dining area and offering takeout service only, the bakery drew long lines each morning, with demand far outpacing the amount of doughnuts which could be produced. Hamer described her doughnuts as "something egalitarian" that "didn’t seem too exclusive or appeal to ust onecrowd." Hintonburg is a neighbourhood in Kitchissippi Ward in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, located west of the Downtown core. It is a historically working-class, predominantly residential neighbourhood, with a commercial strip located along Wellington Street West. It is home to the Parkdale Public Market, located along Parkdale Avenue, just north of Wellington. It is considered to be one of Ottawa's most " hipster" neighbourhoods. Lansdowne Park
Lansdowne Park is a urban park, historic sports, exhibition and entertainment facility in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, owned by the City of Ottawa. It is located on Bank Street adjacent to the Rideau Canal in The Glebe neighbourhood of central Ottawa. Lansdowne Park contains the TD Place Stadium and Arena complex (formerly Frank Clair Stadium and the Ottawa Civic Centre, respectively), the Aberdeen Pavilion, and the Horticulture Building. Wellington Street West
Wellington Street West (Ottawa Road #36) is a 2.3 km road and shopping area west of downtown Ottawa, Ontario. This road was once connected to - and is often confused with - the prominent Wellington Street in downtown Ottawa. But the two Wellingtons were severed in the 1960s with the expropriation of LeBreton Flats and the demolition of the viaduct that connected them over the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks. A small remnant of the old Wellington alignment remains between Bayview Road and the small park, Somerset Square. But the modern Wellington Street West roadway is now connected with Somerset Street West, which becomes Wellington West at Garland Avenue. The section from Somerset Street West to Holland Avenue traverses the Hintonburg neighbourhood, while the section from Holland Avenue to Island Park Drive forms the backbone of the Wellington Village community.
