Supercopa Honduras
The Honduran Supercup is a Honduras, Honduran Association football, football competition held yearly as a preseason match between the reigning champions of the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras, Liga Nacional and the Honduran Cup. The competition started unofficially in 1997, but was discontinued after just two seasons. In 2015 Honduran Supercup, 2015, it was intended to be reactivated, but the match between F.C. Motagua and Club Deportivo Olimpia was scheduled but not played. One year later, a 2016 Honduran Supercup, new Supercup edition was finally reestablished after 17 years of dormancy. The Honduran football authorities however, did not consider the competition official until 2017 Honduran Supercup, 2017. Club Deportivo Olimpia is a professional association football in Honduras, Honduran football club based in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Tegucigalpa, Francisco Morazán Department, Francisco Morazán. The club is the nation's most successful team both in the domestic league and in international club competitions. Estadio Juan Ramón Brevé Vargas is a soccer venue in Juticalpa, Olancho, Honduras. It is the headquarters of Juticalpa F.C. and Olancho FC, both of the Honduran Liga Nacional. It was inaugurated in July 2015. First game The first official game was played on Sunday 9 August 2015 between hosts Juticalpa F.C. and Real C.D. España for the game week two of the 2015–16 Honduran Liga Nacional season. The match ended with a 2–0 victory for the home team. Club Deportivo Social Sol is a Honduran football team based in Olanchito, Yoro. The club was promoted to the Honduran Liga Nacional for the first time in 2016 and competed in the 2016–17 season. History Social Sol was founded on 13 April 1968. After spending almost 50 years looking for promotion to the top-tier division, they finally earned its right in the 2015–16 season as winners of the Honduran Liga de Ascenso. Liga de Ascenso (Promotion League) is the second division of Honduran football; it was founded on 17 December 1979 as ''Segunda División'' (Second Division) and renamed ''Liga de Ascenso'' (Promotion League) on 21 July 2002. The league is divided into 4 groups: ''Zona Norte y Atlántica'' (North and Atlantic Zone), ''Zona Norte y Occidente'' (North and West Zone), ''Zona Centro y Sur'' (Central and South Zone), ''Zona Sur y Oriente'' (South and East Zone). Juticalpa F
Juticalpa () is the capital of Olancho Department in Honduras, with a population of 75,790 (2023 calculation), and the municipal seat of Juticalpa Municipality. Situated in a broad river valley alongside the Rio Juticalpa, the town is a commercial centre for much of Olancho's ranching and agricultural economy. The 2016 Honduran Supercup was a match arranged by the Honduran Liga Nacional which took place on 8 July 2016 between C.D. Honduras Progreso, winners of the 2015–16 Liga Nacional (Apertura tournament) and Club Deportivo Olimpia, winners of the 2015 Honduran Cup. This was the first Honduran Supercup since 1999 after the 2015 edition was abandoned with no disclosed reason. Qualified teams Background C.D.
