Superbikes At Texas
The MotoAmerica Superbikes at Texas is a MotoAmerica race event that was held for the first time in the 2015 season at Circuit of the Americas (COTA). For the first several years, it was the first or second race weekend on the MotoAmerica schedule. MotoGP and MotoAmerica raced during the same weekend at COTA from 2015-2019. The 2020 and 2021 race events were cancelled due to the outbreak of COVID-19. The following year, it was named “MotoAmerica Superbikes at Texas” and has been named like that since 2022. MotoAmerica is the organization that promotes and organizes the AMA Road Racing series. Formally known as the MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship, it is sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association, American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). Joshua Kurt "Josh" Hayes (born April 4, 1975 in Gulfport, Mississippi) is a professional motorcycle roadracer who started his road racing career at age 19 and made a quick ascension up through the ranks where he won his first three WERA titles in 1994 and numerous others in the following four years. Garrett James Gerloff (born August 1, 1995) is an American motorcycle racer who has competed in the Superbike World Championship since 2020. He was a two-time champion MotoAmerica in the Supersport class after taking first place overall in 2016 and 2017. Sean Dylan Kelly (born May 17, 2002) is an American motorcycle racer racing for TopPro Racing in the 2024 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship. He previously competed in the AMA Supersport Championship with the M4 Ecstar Suzuki team, having won the championship in 2021, and later had a two-year stint in Europe, racing 34 times in the Moto2 class.
