Triathlon
A triathlon is an endurance multisport race consisting of Swimming (sport), swimming, Cycle sport, cycling, and running over various distances. Triathletes compete for fastest overall completion time, racing each segment sequentially with the time transitioning between the disciplines included. The word is of Greek language, Greek origin, from (), 'three', and (), 'competition'. The sport originated in the late 1970s in Southern California as sports clubs and individuals developed the sport. Emma Lombardi (born 12 September 2001 in Chambéry) is a French triathlete. Career Emma Lombardi is the French junior triathlon champion in 2019 in Grignon, Savoie. In 2022, Lombardi won the U23 Triathlon World Championships in Edmonton, Canada. At the end of June 2022, Lombardi becomes the world champion in mixed relay triathlon in Montreal, alongside Cassandre Beaugrand, Vincent Luis, and Pierre Le Corre. Jeanne Lehair
Jeanne Lehair (born March 30, 1996) is a French born Luxembourg professional triathlete. She changed her nationality in time to compete at the Paris Olympics and she became the European Champion in 2023 under her new flag. Life Lehair was born in Metz and at the age of seven she got interested in sport and joined the local Sports Club in the following year. Her father was interested in triathlon and she was interested in several sports. The triathlon event was a natural choice and she became a youth champion in 2011. Kate Waugh
Kate Waugh (born 13 February 1999) is a British triathlete competing internationally for Great Britain. She became the 2022 U23 World Champion, having won the 2022 World Triathlon Championship Series event in Abu Dhabi. In 2023 Waugh built on her success of the previous year with a series of top ten performances, notably in the World Triathlon Championship Series in Yokohama, where she was fifth behind British teammate Sophie Coldwell, before coming second to Beth Potter in the World Triathlon Championship Finals in Pontevedra. Sophie Coldwell (born 25 February 1995) is a British triathlete. She competed in the women's event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. and has achieved several medals in International Triathlon Union (ITU) and European Triathlon Union (ETU) Championships. Sophie Coldwell is based in Loughborough, England. On the 26th June 2022, she won her 1st major medal when helping Team GB to Silver in the mixed team relay. Jessica Learmonth (born 18 April 1988) is a British triathlete. Learmonth is a European, Commonwealth, Olympic and World Triathlon Series medal winner based in Leeds, England where she trains at the Leeds Triathlon Centre. She won the European Triathlon Championship in 2017 and took silver in 2018. Taylor Spivey (born April 13, 1991) is an American professional triathlete. At the conclusion of the 2019 season she placed fourth in the ITU World Triathlon Series behind Katie Zaferes, Jess Learmonth, and Georgia Taylor-Brown. Katie Zaferes (née Hursey) is an American professional triathlete from Hampstead, Maryland. She earned a silver and bronze medal for the United States in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic triathlon held in 2021. She is also the 2019 ITU World Triathlon Series women's champion. Kristian Blummenfelt (born 14 February 1994) is a Norwegian Triathlon, triathlete, Olympic and world champion, competing at short course (sprint and standard distance), 70.3 (half-Ironman) and 140.6 (Ironman) distances. Jacob Birtwhistle (born 4 January 1995) is an Australian triathlete. Running career At the 2013 IAAF World Cross Country Championships – Junior men's race he finished 41st.
