Subang National Golf Club (Malay: ''Kelab Golf Negara Subang'') is a golf courses in Kelana Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia and consists of two 18-hole courses. It has hosted several significant golf tournaments in its history. It hosted the Malaysian Dunlop Masters several times in the 1970s and 1980s. It also hosted the Malaysian Open in 1983, 1987, and 1991. In 1977 Walter Godfrey started working as the club pro. He worked at the club for five years. During his tenure at Subang National he won the 1979 Dunlop Masters. Selangor

Malaysian Open (golf)
The Malaysian Open is a men's professional golf tournament currently played on the Asian Tour. Notable past winners include world number one golfers Vijay Singh and Lee Westwood (both players winning the event on two occasions). Other notable winners include 17-year-old Italian Matteo Manassero in 2011 as well as former Open champion Louis Oosthuizen the following year. PGA Tour winners including Harold Henning, Jeff Maggert, Glen Day, Steve Flesch, Arjun Atwal and Noh Seung-yul have also won the event. Since its inauguration there has never been a Malaysian winner. Walter Godfrey (golfer)
Walter John Ihaka Godfrey (born October 1941) is a professional golfer from New Zealand. Amateur career Godfrey is from Matamata, New Zealand. Godfrey was a star amateur golfer. He won a number of school championships in his youth before reaching the finals of the Auckland Schoolboys' Championship at the age of 13, losing to a student named JB Williams (caddie Steve Williams' father). He won the New Zealand Amateur in 1958 while only 16 years old. He remains the youngest winner of this tournament with current PGA Tour professional Danny Lee. Two years later, Godfrey represented New Zealand in the Eisenhower Trophy, playing with Bob Charles. Their team finished 5th out of 32 teams. Godfrey also participated at the 1962 Eisenhower Trophy, leading his team to a 4th-place finish. Asia Golf Circuit
The Asia Golf Circuit was the principal men's professional golf tour in Southeast Asia from the early 1960s through to the mid-late 1990s. The tour was founded in 1961 as the Far East Circuit. The first series of five tournaments was held in 1962 and consisted of the national open championships of the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong, plus a final tournament held in Japan. The tour gradually grew over the subsequent years, eventually becoming a regular ten tournament circuit in 1974. Leading players in the end of season standings were granted exemptions into major tournaments around the world, such as The Open Championship, the U.S. Open and the Memorial Tournament, and in later years were rewarded with playing status on the Japan Golf Tour.
