Victor Eric 'Strand' Kruger (born 19 January 1989 in Welkom) is a South African rugby union player, currently playing with Rustenburg-based club side Impala. His regular position is lock. Career Youth and Varsity Cup He was part of the squad that played in the 2007 Under-19 Provincial Championship competition. He then moved to Potchefstroom, where he joined the , as well as university side . He was included in the squad for the 2008 Under-19 Provincial Championship competition and in the squad for the 2009 and 2010 Under-21 Provincial Championship competitions. Welkom
Welkom () is the second-largest city in the Free State province of South Africa, located about northeast of Bloemfontein which is the provincial capital. Welkom is also known as Circle City, City Within A Garden, Mvela and Matjhabeng. The city's Sesotho name, ''Matjhabeng'' means 'where nations meet', derived from the migrant labour system, where people of various countries such as Lesotho, Malawi and Mozambique etc. met to work in the mines of the gold fields. The 2011 Vodacom Cup was contested from 25 February to 13 May 2011. The tournament was the 14th edition of the Vodacom Cup, an annual domestic South African rugby union competition, and was played between the fourteen provincial teams in South Africa, as well as Namibian side and Argentine side . The Gold Cup is the premier rugby union club competition in South Africa for non-university teams. The competition was launched as the SARU Community Cup in 2013 to replace the existing SARU National Club Championships and renamed to the Gold Cup for 2016, when teams from Namibia and Zimbabwe were also included in the competition.
