Stockport Georgians A.F.C.
Stockport Georgians Association Football Club is a football club based in Stockport, England. They are currently members of the and play at Cromley Road, Stockport. History Stockport Georgians were founded in 1908, competing in the Stockport Sunday League. In 1923, the club was renamed St. George's, after the church of the same name in the Heaviley area of Stockport, joining the Stockport League in the same decade, winning the league in 1926 and 1927. In 1931, Stockport Georgians joined the Lancashire & Cheshire Amateur League. In 1987, the club absorbed Adswood Amateurs, taking their place in the Manchester League, winning the title in their first season in the league. In 2002, the club won the Manchester League for the second time, adding a third title in 2015. In 2022, the club was admitted into the North West Counties League Division One South. Stockport is a town in Greater Manchester, England, south-east of Manchester, south-west of Ashton-under-Lyne and north of Macclesfield. The River Goyt, Rivers Goyt and River Tame, Greater Manchester, Tame merge to create the River Mersey here. It is the main settlement of the wider Metropolitan Borough of Stockport. The Manchester Football League is a association football, football league in England, affiliated with Manchester Football Association, Manchester FA, covering a 30-mile radius from Manchester Town Hall. It was formed in 1893, although play ceased between 1912 and 1920. Currently it consists of five divisions, with the Premier division being at level 11 of the English football league system. Structure The League consists of six divisions, from Premier Division to Division five. The Premier Division, Division One and Division Two can incorporate both first teams, and reserve teams of clubs who are playing at a higher level, while Divisions Three and Four and Five usually consist entirely of reserve or lower teams. North West Counties Football League
The North West Counties Football League is a association football, football league in the North West England, North West of England. Since 2019–20, the league has covered the Isle of Man, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cumbria, northern Staffordshire, northern Shropshire, the far west of West Yorkshire, and the High Peak, Derbyshire, High Peak area of Derbyshire. In the past, the league has also hosted clubs from North Wales such as Caernarfon Town F.C., Caernarfon Town, Colwyn Bay F.C., Colwyn Bay, and Rhyl F.C., Rhyl. The Football Association Challenge Vase, also known as the Isuzu FA Vase for sponsorship reasons, is an annual football competition run by and named after The Football Association (The FA), for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System.
