Stephen Varney
Stephen Lorenzo Varney (born 16 May 2001) is a Welsh-born Italian professional rugby union player who primarily plays scrum-half for Gloucester of the English Premiership. He has also represented Italy at international level, having made his test debut against Scotland during the Autumn Nations Cup. Varney has previously played for clubs such as Hartpury in the past. Professional career Coming from Rhoshill, Pembrokeshire, and having played for Crymych RFC, in 2020 he was named for Italy U20 squad, for which he qualifies through his Italian mother, Valeria. In January 2020, Varney was named in the Italy Under 20 squad for the 2020 Six Nations Under 20s Championship. He made his international debut for Italy, from the bench, in the Autumn Nations Cup against Scotland that year. Carmarthen
Carmarthen (, RP: ; cy, Caerfyrddin , "Merlin's fort" or "Sea-town fort") is the county town of Carmarthenshire and a community in Wales, lying on the River Towy. north of its estuary in Carmarthen Bay. 2023 Rugby World Cup
The 2023 Rugby World Cup is scheduled to be the tenth men's Rugby World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's rugby union teams. It is scheduled to take place in France from 8 September to 28 October 2023 in nine venues across the country. The opening match and final will take place at the Stade de France, in the commune of Saint-Denis, north of Paris. The tournament will take place in the bicentenary year of the "invention" of the sport by William Webb Ellis. Originally, the tournament was scheduled to last the typical six weeks; however, on 23 February 2021, World Rugby announced an additional week to accommodate the additional rest day requirement for player welfare. Crymych RFC
Crymych Rugby Football Club (Welsh: Clwb Rygbi Crymych) is a rugby union team from the village of Crymych in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The club is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union and is a feeder club for the Llanelli Scarlets. History Crymych RFC is, by Welsh rugby union standards, a very young rugby club. Formed in 1984 out of the belief that the number of players leaving the locality, to join neighbouring clubs such as Cardigan, Narberth and Whitland, would be better served by a local team. The first match was played against a Whitlands XV in September 1984, and soon former residents were returning to play for the club. The club was admitted to the Welsh Rugby Union in 1995 and in 2003 a new clubhouse was opened.
