Mark Stevens (born Richard William Stevens; December 13, 1916 – September 15, 1994) was an American actor, who appeared in films, and on television. He was one of four who played the lead role in the television series '' Martin Kane, Private Eye''; he appeared in 1953–54. Early life Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Stevens first studied to become a painter before becoming active in theater work. He then launched a radio career as an announcer in Akron, Ohio. Steve Richards (born 6 June 1960) is a British TV presenter and political columnist, who has written columns for the ''Guardian'', ''Independent'', ''New Statesman'' and '' Spectator''. He regularly presents Radio 4's ''Week in Westminster'' and hosts a podcast and a one-man show, Rock N Roll Politics. Taproot is an American alternative metal band from Ann Arbor, Michigan, formed in 1997. They are best known for their hit single "Poem", which peaked at #5 on the Mainstream Rock chart in 2002, as well as a number of other singles from 2000 on. History Formation and independent releases (1997–1999) Taproot was formed in 1997 in Ann Arbor, Michigan by vocalist Stephen Richards, guitarist Mike DeWolf, bassist Phil Lipscomb, and drummer Jarrod Montague. The band earned a following with their live performances. In 1998, Taproot sent their demo to Limp Bizkit frontman, Fred Durst, after seeing a request for demos on their first album. Stephen Richards (born 24 October 1961 in Dundee) is a Scottish former professional footballer. In August 1998 he succeeded Ernie Moss as manager of Gainsborough Trinity F.C., Gainsborough Trinity. He, along with his assistant Paul Olsson, resigned from the post on 7 October 1999 following the fall out from Trinity's FA Cup Third Qualifying Round Replay 2–1 defeat at home to Droylsden F.C., Droylsden two days previously which saw Trinity players Mick Norbury and Neil Lacey sent-off: Lacey for a late tackle which caused the Droyslden bench to invade the pitch and Norbury after the final whistle. Stephen Richards (1820 – October 4, 1894) was a lawyer and political figure of Ontario, Canada. He represented Niagara in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a Conservative member from 1867 to 1874. He was born in Brockville in 1820 and educated in Toronto. He was called to the bar in 1844. In 1858, he was named Queen's Counsel. He was elected to the provincial legislature in an 1867 by-election after the sitting member resigned. He served as Commissioner of Crown Lands in the Executive Council of the province from 1867 to 1871 and provincial secretary in 1871. He died in Toronto in 1894. One of his brothers, William Buell Richards, was the first Chief Justice of Canada. Stephen D. Richards or Samuel D. Richards (March 18, 1856April 26, 1879), also known in the media as The Nebraska Fiend, Kearney County Murderer, and The Ohio Monster, was an American serial killer who confessed to committing nine murders in Nebraska and Iowa between 1876 and 1878. Richards was born in West Virginia in 1856. His family would later move to Ohio, eventually settling in the Quaker village of Mount Pleasant. In 1876, Richards left his home and headed westward with the intention of seeking his fortune. For a time, he found work at a local asylum; he claimed that during his time there, he lost all empathy for other people. When Richards later confessed to his crimes, he claimed to have committed his first murder sometime in late 1876, two weeks after arriving in Kearney, Nebraska. He was educated at King's College School and St John's College, Oxford ( BA, MA). Having been called to the Bar at Gray's Inn in 1975, Richards was Second Junior Counsel to the Director General of Fair Trading 1987–89 and Standing Counsel 1989–91. He was Junior Counsel to the Crown 1990–91, and First Junior Treasury Counsel 1992–97 (elected as a Bencher of Gray's Inn on taking up the latter appointment).
