Starvengers
, known as '' Starvengers'' in the United States, is a super robot anime series by Toei Animation based on ''Hundred Demons Empire'' arc of ''Getter Robo'' manga by Go Nagai and Ken Ishikawa. This direct sequel to ''Getter Robo'' was broadcast on Fuji TV from May 15, 1975 to March 25, 1976, with a total of 39 episodes (some episodes were rebroadcast, erroneously giving the impression that there were 43 episodes). Mattel's popular Shogun Warriors toy collection included Getter Robo G's robot formations in that toy line: Getter Dragon (Dragun), Getter Liger (Raider), and Getter Poseidon (Poseidon). As a result of the popularity of these toys in the US, Jim Terry included this series in his ''Force Five'' anime lineup under the title of ''Starvengers''. Some ''Starvengers'' episodes were re-dubbed and released by FB Productions under the ''Robo Formers'' title. Robo Formers
''Robo Formers'' was a series of VHS videos distributed in the 1980s and 1990s. The episodes revolve around the Evil Empire of the Pandamoniums and their attempts to take over the Earth to which the Robo Formers team stands in their way as defenders of the planet. The episodes themselves were taken from the cartoon series ''Starvengers'' which itself was the English title for the Japanese animated series ''Getter Robo G''. ''Starvengers'' was produced by Jim Terry under his Force Five anime series line-up. ''Robo Formers'' was a redub of ''Starvengers''. One exception was a single episode (see below) of ''Robo Formers'' that was redubbed from ''Gaiking'', another of Jim Terry's ''Force Five'' series. The ''Robo Formers'' videos have no distributor information on the box although FB Productions appears on the inside of the box. The packaging designer is Can-Vision. is a Japanese mecha media franchise created by Ken Ishikawa and Go Nagai. An anime television series produced by Toei Animation was broadcast on Fuji TV from April 4, 1974, to May 8, 1975, with a total of 51 episodes. The manga was serialized in Shogakukan's '' Weekly Shōnen Sunday'' from April 7, 1974, to August 24, 1975, and was compiled in six volumes by Shogakukan and three volumes by Futabasha. ''Force Five'' is an American adaptation of five different anime television series. In the United States, this series was primarily shown only in New England, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, though it did make brief appearances in other markets, such as Texas and Northern California on KICU-TV 36. It was also shown in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on CFMT channel 47 and in Asia on Star Plus during the 1990s. It was produced by Jim Terry and his company American Way, and it consisted of five imported Japanese giant robot serials (originally produced in the mid-1970s by Toei Animation) in response to the popularity of the Shogun Warriors toy collection.
