Stanley Meadows
Stanley Meadows (born 14 July 1931 in Stepney, London, England) is a British film and television actor. He graduated from RADA in 1955. Meadows made frequent appearances in British films and became something of a stalwart of British television series including '' Public Eye'', '' Undermind'', '' Randall and Hopkirk'' and ''Widows A widow (female) or widower (male) is a person whose spouse has died. Metropolitan Borough Of Stepney
The Metropolitan Borough of Stepney was a Metropolitan borough in the County of London created in 1900. In 1965 it became part of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Formation and boundaries The borough was formed from thirteen civil parishes and extra-parochial places: Christchurch Spitalfields, Liberty of Norton Folgate (part), Mile End New Town, Mile End Old Town, Old Artillery Ground, Ratcliff, St Anne Limehouse, St Botolph without Aldgate, St George in the East, St John of Wapping, St Mary Whitechapel, St Paul Shadwell and Tower of London. In 1901 Tower of London was merged with St Botolph without Aldgate. In 1921 Ratcliff, St John of Wapping and St Paul Shadwell were merged with St Anne Limehouse; and Christchurch Spitalfields, Liberty of Norton Folgate, Mile End New Town, Old Artillery Ground and St Botolph without Aldgate were merged with St Mary Whitechapel. ''Clash by Night'' (released in the US as ''Escape by Night'') is a 1963 British crime thriller directed by Montgomery Tully and starring Terence Longdon and Jennifer Jayne. Plot A bus transporting criminals from court to prison is held up by crooks who rescue one of their gang. The bus is driven to a deserted farm and all the other occupants of the bus are locked in a barn. To give the gang leader plenty of time to escape, he tells the people - two prison officers, the driver and five prisoners - that the barn has been doused in petrol, and that two gang members will stay behind to guard it; they will set fire to the straw filled building if anyone attempts to escape. The prisoners and officers start to interact, but soon find they may be in danger from yet another source. ''Performance'' is a 1970 British crime drama film directed by Donald Cammell and Nicolas Roeg, written by Cammell and photographed by Roeg. The film stars James Fox as a violent and ambitious London gangster who, after killing an old friend, goes into hiding at the home of a reclusive rock star (Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones). It initially focused on David Keel ( Ian Hendry), aided by John Steed ( Patrick Macnee). Hendry left after the first series; Steed then became the main character, partnered with a succession of assistants.
