St. Thomas Curling Classic
The St. Thomas Curling Classic (previously Roy Inch & Sons Service Experts Classic and the Arctic Snowplows Classic before 2014) is a bonspiel, part of the men's Ontario Curling Tour. The event is held in October and takes place at the St. Thomas Curling Club in St. Thomas, Ontario. In the past, the event has been open to both men's and women's teams. In 2013, Sherry Middaugh Sherry L. Middaugh (née Hamel, born October 11, 1966 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian curler from Victoria Harbour, Ontario. Bonspiel
A bonspiel is a curling tournament, consisting of several games, often held on a weekend. Until the 20th century most bonspiels were held outdoors, on a frozen freshwater loch. Today almost all bonspiels are held indoors on specially prepared artificial ice. Mike Anderson (curler)
Michael Anderson (born February 4, 1985) is a Canadian curler from Markham, Ontario. He is a Canadian University champion. Career Anderson is most notable for leading the Laurier Golden Hawks men's curling team to a national university championship in 2008. This qualified the rink to represent Canada at the 2009 Winter Universiade. The team finished in 6th place, with a 4–5 record. James Grattan (curler)
James Grattan, nicknamed "Jimmy the Kid" (born July 28, 1974 in Ottawa, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Oromocto, New Brunswick. He currently skips his own team. Career Grattan's best personal result as a skip at the Brier is third place (). In 2002–2004 he played third for Russ Howard. He skipped again in (5–6 in Regina), after defeating Dan Sherrard in the New Brunswick Tankard final, and (2–9 Winnipeg), after defeating Jeremy Mallais in the provincial final. He played third for Howard again in (6–5 Calgary). He moved back to skip the following season and the team won the provincial championship. John Willsey
John Willsey is a Canadian curler from Orillia, Ontario. He currently skips his own team out of Oakville, Ontario. Career Youth In 2012, Willsey won the Ontario Bantam Mixed championship, playing third for Sarah Nuhn. While attending the University of Waterloo, Willsey skipped the Waterloo men's curling team for three of the four years on the team. In his first year on the team, he won a silver medal for Waterloo at the 2016 OUA championship and led Waterloo to a 2-5 record at the 2016 CIS/CCA Curling Championships, the national university championship. After winning a bronze medal at the OUA championship, he led Waterloo once again at the 2018 national university championship. There, Waterloo would finish the round robin in first place with a 5-2 record. In the playoffs however, Waterloo lost both of their games, and settled for fourth place. Daryl Shane is a Canadian curler from Waterloo, Ontario. He is a former provincial junior champion. He presently skips a men's team on the Ontario Curling Tour, and has played on the World Curling Tour in past seasons. Aaron Squires
Aaron John Squires (born November 10, 1992, in Victoria, British Columbia) is a Canadian curler from St. Thomas, Ontario. He formerly played on the World Curling Tour. As a junior curler, Squires and his St. Thomas Curling Club rink of Jason Camm, David Easter and Curtis Easter won the 2013 Pepsi Ontario Junior Curling Championships. The team then represented Ontario at the 2013 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, where they posted a 7–3 record before losing a tie-breaker match to Manitoba's Matt Dunstone rink. Ontario Curling Tour
The Ontario Curling Tour is a group of curling bonspiels, which takes places in Ontario, Canada and attracts some of the top male and female curlers in the province, and from across the country and world. The OCT was designed to promote competitive curling from a grass root level. The events for the Ontario Curling Tour begin at the end of August and typically run until December, with occasional events taking place in January. Several of the events on the Ontario Curling Tour are also included in the World Curling Tour. All events on the Ontario Curling Tour, much like those on World Curling Tour, contain a prize purse for the winning teams, and award CTRS (Canadian Team Ranking System) points to the Canadian teams competing. CTRS points qualify teams for the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials and events such as the Canada Cup of Curling.
