Spencer Cone Jones
Spencer Cone Jones (July 3, 1836 – April 1, 1915), was the President of the Maryland State Senate, Mayor of Rockville, Maryland and Maryland State Treasurer. Early life Spencer Cone Jones was born in Rockville, Maryland on July 3, 1836, the son of Reverend Joseph H. Jones (1798–1871), a Baptist minister, and Elizabeth (Clagett) Jones, of Montgomery County. He attended Rockville Academy, Frederick County public schools and Frederick College. After entering the legal profession, Jones practiced with William J. Ross of Frederick, and was admitted to the Frederick County bar in 1860. Civil War Jones enlisted in Company D of the First Maryland Cavalry of the Confederate Army at the beginning of the American Civil War. In May 1862, he was thrown in jail for eight months. Jones was first arrested as a prisoner of war and was thrown in the Baltimore City Jail. He was subsequently transferred between Fort McHenry and Fort Delaware for interrogation. Spencer Jones (born September 22, 1994) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. Early life Jones went to Edward C. Reed High School in Sparks, Nevada, graduating in 2012. He began his college baseball career at Mendocino College. After two years, he transferred to the University of Washington to play for the Washington Huskies for two more seasons. Career Tampa Bay Rays The Tampa Bay Rays selected Jones in the 10th round, with the 300th selection, of the 2016 MLB draft. Spencer George Jones (born May 14, 2001) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the New York Yankees organization. Amateur career Jones attended La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, California. As a junior in 2018, he had a 4.09 earned run average (ERA) with 33 walks and 33 strikeouts over innings pitched and had a .414 batting average with five home runs. He played in the Perfect Game All-American Classic and the Under Armour All-America Baseball Game that summer. He fractured his elbow as a senior in 2019 while pitching and missed the remainder of the season. He was still selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 31st round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft but did not sign and instead enrolled at Vanderbilt University to play college baseball. Spencer Jones is an English actor, comedian and writer. He has performed regularly at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and in 2017 and 2019 was nominated for the main prize in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. He was co-creator and co-star of the BAFTA-nominated CBBC comedy '' Big Babies'', and has a regular role in the sitcom '' Upstart Crow''. He became renowned as an authority on positional astronomy and served as the tenth Astronomer Royal for 23 years. Although born "Jones", his surname became "Spencer Jones".
