''The Spellbinder'' is a 1939 American drama film directed by Jack Hively, written by Thomas Lennon (screenwriter, born 1896), Thomas Lennon and Joseph Fields, and starring Lee Tracy, Barbara Read, Patric Knowles, Allan Lane and Linda Hayes (actress), Linda Hayes. It was released on July 28, 1939, by RKO Pictures. Plot Jed Marlowe is a lawyer that specialises in defending guilty criminals using loopholes and briberies. ''Spellbinder'' is a 1988 American witchcraft-themed horror film directed by Janet Greek, starring Timothy Daly and Kelly Preston. The screenplay was written by Tracy Tormé. The original music score was written by Basil Poledouris. The film was marketed with the tagline "A nightmare of illusion and betrayal". Plot Miranda Reed (Kelly Preston) is saved from an abusive boyfriend by Los Angeles attorney Jeff Mills (Tim Daly) and his lawyer friend and coworker Derek Clayton. The boyfriend makes threats at Jeff, but eventually leaves. As Miranda has no home, Jeff offers to let her stay at his. ''Spellbinder'' () is a 1995 English-language fantasy adventure science fiction children's television series, co-produced between Australia and Poland, and filmed in both countries. The series follows the adventures of Sydney high-schooler Paul Reynolds ( Zbych Trofimiuk) as he is accidentally stranded in a parallel world where the industrial revolution never happened. Only a small number of people there have technology – the "Spellbinders" – and they pretend it is magic and use it to rule over everyone else, manipulating people's fear and ignorance. The Adventures of Letterman is a series of animated shorts that was a regular feature on the 1970s PBS educational television series The Electric Company. A superhero spoof created by Mike Thaler, it debuted during the show's second season. Each episode was animated by John Hubley and Faith Hubley and pit the title character, voiced by Gene Wilder, against the "Spell Binder", voiced by Zero Mostel, with Joan Rivers as the narrator. Plots revolve around Spell Binder causing trouble by changing the letter of a word so it means something completely different, then Letterman restoring it.
