''Spellbinder'' is a 1988 American witchcraft-themed horror film directed by Janet Greek, starring Timothy Daly and Kelly Preston. The screenplay was written by Tracy Tormé. The original music score was written by Basil Poledouris. The film was marketed with the tagline "A nightmare of illusion and betrayal". Plot Miranda Reed (Kelly Preston) is saved from an abusive boyfriend by Los Angeles attorney Jeff Mills (Tim Daly) and his lawyer friend and coworker Derek Clayton. ''Spellbinder'' () is a 1995 English-language fantasy adventure science fiction children's television series, co-produced between Australia and Poland, and filmed in both countries. The series follows the adventures of Sydney high-schooler Paul Reynolds ( Zbych Trofimiuk) as he is accidentally stranded in a parallel world where the industrial revolution never happened. Only a small number of people there have technology – the "Spellbinders" – and they pretend it is magic and use it to rule over everyone else, manipulating people's fear and ignorance. The Adventures Of Letterman
The Adventures of Letterman is a series of animated shorts that was a regular feature on the 1970s PBS educational television series The Electric Company. A superhero spoof created by Mike Thaler, it debuted during the show's second season. Each episode was animated by John Hubley and Faith Hubley and pit the title character, voiced by Gene Wilder, against the "Spell Binder", voiced by Zero Mostel, with Joan Rivers as the narrator. Plots revolve around Spell Binder causing trouble by changing the letter of a word so it means something completely different, then Letterman restoring it. Richard Allan Bartle (born 10 January 1960) is a British writer, professor and game researcher in the massively multiplayer online game industry. He co-created ''MUD1'' (the first MUD) in 1978, and is the author of the 2003 book ''Designing Virtual Worlds''. Life and career In 1988, Bartle received a PhD in artificial intelligence from the University of Essex, where as an undergraduate, he created ''MUD1'' with Roy Trubshaw in 1978. He lectured at Essex until 1987, when he left to work full-time on ''MUD'' (known as '' MUD2'' in its present version). Several years later he returned to the university as a part-time professor and principal teaching fellow in the Department of Computing and Electronic Systems, supervising courses on computer game design as part of the department's degree course on computer game development. Melanie Rawn
Melanie Rawn (born 1954) is an American author of fantasy literature. She received a BA in history from Scripps College and worked as a teacher and editor before becoming a writer. She has been nominated for a Locus award on three occasions: in 1989 for ''Dragon Prince'' in the first novel category, in 1994 for ''Skybowl'' in the fantasy novel category, and again in 1995 for ''Ruins of Ambrai'' in the fantasy novel category. The third novel in the "Exiles" trilogy has now been "forthcoming" since the late 1990s due to the author suffering from clinical depression and moving on to other projects to facilitate her recovery. In 2014, Rawn stated via Kate Elliot's blog that she intended to complete the trilogy after finishing the fifth book of the ''Glass Thorns'' series.
