Sovereign And Popular Democracy
Sovereign Popular Democracy (, DSP) is a populist, sovereignist and Eurosceptic political alliance in Italy, formed in January 2023. Its leader is Marco Rizzo. History After participating in the 2022 Italian general election under the name Sovereign and Popular Italy, the list was officially dissolved in December 2022 by mutual agreement of its leaders, Marco Rizzo and Francesco Toscano. This happened after Francesco Toscano left his party, Italy Again, to launch a new party called Sovereign and Popular Italy Again (AISP). On January 13, 2023, the National Political Committee of Sovereign Popular Democracy was elected in Rome, followed by the election of the Scientific Committee on January 14. On January 22, Marco Rizzo officially launched the party on YouTube. Marco Rizzo
Marco Rizzo (born 12 October 1959 in Turin) is an Italian politician, who served as leader of the Communist Party (PC) from 2009 to 2023, and as leader of Sovereign and Popular Italy in 2022. Biography A graduate in political science in 1985, he was a lecturer in vocational guidance (1985–1994). From 1986 to 1991, he was a member of the Turin Province party executive of the Italian Communist Party (PCI), and joined the Communist Refoundation Party (PRC) in 1991, serving as its representative to the Council of the Turin Province until 1995. Between 1994 and 2004, he served in the Chamber of Deputies of Italy. From 1995 to 1998, he was coordinator of the National Secretariat of the PRC, then left to become a founding member and Italian Parliament group leader of the Party of Italian Communists (until 2004). Civil Revolution
Civil Revolution (, RC) was a left-wing coalition of political parties in Italy. The coalition was headed by Antonio Ingroia, a former anti-mafia prosecutor of Palermo from 1992 to 2012 and then director of a UN investigation into illegal drug trade in Guatemala in 2012. The foundation of RC was preceded by the manifesto '' Io ci sto'', presented by Ingroia on 21 December in Rome. Among the signatories of this appeal were Franco Battiato, Fiorella Mannoia, Luigi de Magistris, Leoluca Orlando, Milly Moratti, Massimiliano Bruno, Max Paiella, Sabina Guzzanti, Vauro and Enrico Fierro. Antonio Ingroia (born 31 March 1959) is an Italian lawyer, ex magistrate, politician and leader of Civil Revolution, with Luigi de Magistris, the mayor of Naples.
