Antonio Ingroia
Antonio Ingroia (born 31 March 1959) is an Italian lawyer, ex magistrate, politician and leader of Civil Revolution, with Luigi de Magistris, the mayor of Naples. Ingroia is also the director of a United Nations investigation against narcotraffic in Guatemala. He is also a writer and contributes regular columns to the daily newspaper ''Il Fatto Quotidiano''. Biography Antonio Ingroia was born in Palermo, the capital city of Sicily, Italy. In 1987 Ingroia started to cooperate in the Antimafia pool of Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, two Italian magistrates who were killed in 1992 by the Mafia. In 2009 he became deputy chief anti-mafia prosecutor of Palermo. On 26 July 2012 he became the director of a UN investigation into narcotraffic in Guatemala. Civil Revolution
Civil Revolution ( it, Rivoluzione Civile, RC) was a left-wing coalition of political parties in Italy. The coalition was headed by Antonio Ingroia, a former anti-mafia prosecutor of Palermo from 1992 to 2012 and then director of a UN investigation into illegal drug trade in Guatemala in 2012. The foundation of RC was preceded by the manifesto ''Io ci sto'', presented by Ingroia on 21 December in Rome. Among the signatories of this appeal were Franco Battiato, Fiorella Mannoia, Luigi de Magistris, Leoluca Orlando, Milly Moratti, Massimiliano Bruno, Max Paiella, Sabina Guzzanti, Vauro and Enrico Fierro. The coalition had an anti-corruption platform. In the 2013 general election the party obtained 2.2% of the vote, returning no seats in the Italian Parliament. The Sicilian Mafia, also simply known as the Mafia and frequently referred to as Cosa nostra (, ; "our thing") by its members, is an Italian Mafia- terrorist-type organized crime syndicate and criminal society originating in the region of Sicily and dating to at least the 19th century. Paolo Borsellino
Paolo Emanuele Borsellino (; scn, Pàulu Borsellino; 19 January 1940 – 19 July 1992) was an Italian judge and prosecuting magistrate. From his office in the Palace of Justice in Palermo, Sicily, he spent most of his professional life trying to overthrow the power of the Sicilian Mafia. After a long and distinguished career, culminating in the Maxi Trial in 1986–1987, on 19 July 1992, Borsellino was killed by a car bomb in Via D'Amelio, near his mother's house in Palermo. Borsellino's life parallels that of his close friend Giovanni Falcone. They both spent their early years in the same neighbourhood in Palermo. Giovanni Falcone (; 18 May 1939 – 23 May 1992) was an Italian judge and prosecuting magistrate. From his office in the Palace of Justice in Palermo, Sicily, he spent most of his professional life trying to overthrow the power of the Sicilian Mafia. After a long and distinguished career, culminating in the Maxi Trial in 1986–1987, on 23 May 1992, Falcone was assassinated by the Corleonesi Mafia in the Capaci bombing, on the A29 motorway near the town of Capaci. Antimafia Pool
The Antimafia Pool was a group of investigating magistrates at the Prosecuting Office of Palermo (Sicily) who closely worked together sharing information and developing new investigative and prosecutorial strategies against the Sicilian Mafia.
