South Eastern Metropolitan Region
South-Eastern Metropolitan Region is one of the eight electoral regions of Victoria, Australia, which elects five members to the Victorian Legislative Council (also referred to as the upper house) by proportional representation. The region was created in 2006 following the 2005 reform of the Victorian Legislative Council. Electoral District Of Cranbourne
Cranbourne is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It is located south-east of Melbourne and includes the suburbs of Botanic Ridge, Cranbourne, Cranbourne East, Cranbourne West, Junction Village, as well as parts of Clyde, Clyde North, Cranbourne South, and Devon Meadows. It was created prior to the 1992 state election. The current sitting member is Pauline Richards of the Labor Party, who has held the seat since 2018. History Cranbourne was held by Jude Perera of the Labor Party from 2002 to 2018, with a two-party preferred margin of 2.3% at the 2014 state election. However, from 1992 to the 2002 election the seat was held by the Liberal Party, albeit with different boundaries that were more favourable to the Liberals. Gordon Rich-Phillips
Gordon Kenneth Rich-Phillips (born 8 July 1974) is a former Australian politician. He was a Liberal Party member of the Victorian Legislative Council between 1999 and 2022, representing the Eumemmerring Province (1999–2006) and the South Eastern Metropolitan Region (2006–2022). First elected at the age of 25, he was the youngest person elected to the Legislative Council. He was Assistant Treasurer, Minister for Technology and Minister for the Aviation Industry from 2010 to 2014, serving in the Baillieu and Napthine governments. Inga Peulich (; née Došen (15 October 1956 − 25 July 2024) was an Australian politician. She was a member of the Victorian Legislative Council representing South Eastern Metropolitan Region from 2006 to 2018 and before that the Member for Bentleigh from 1992 to 2002. From 2014 to 2018, Peulich served as the Victorian Liberal Party's Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs and Shadow Minister for Scrutiny of Government. Robert Frederick Smith (born 22 May 1948) is an Australian politician. He was a Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Council from 1999 to 2010, representing South Eastern Metropolitan Region. Smith was born in England, and attended St Brendan's Public school 1958–63 and Salisbury High School in Brisbane, Queensland, 1963–65. In 1965 he became a permanent member of the Royal Australian Navy, where he remained until 1980, when he became the plant operator of a steel mill. In 1989, he became a union leader. Smith was elected to the Legislative Council in the 1999 Victorian state election, representing Chelsea Province. Adem Kubilay Somyurek (born 25 September 1967) is an Australian politician. He has served as a member of the Victorian Legislative Council currently representing the Northern Metropolitan Region. Somyurek was a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) until 2020, when he resigned and subsequently served as an independent. He served twice as a government minister. He was Minister for Small Business, Innovation and Trade in the First Andrews Ministry from 2014 to 2015. The electoral district of Narre Warren North is an electorate of the Victorian Legislative Assembly and includes the suburbs of Hallam, Narre Warren, Narre Warren North and parts of Berwick, Endeavour Hills and Harkaway. Narre Warren North was created as a seat with a notional Liberal majority in an electoral redistribution before the November 2002 state election. In the Labor landslide of that election, new Labor candidate Luke Donnellan overcame the notional majority to defeat Liberal MLC Maree Luckins, who had been attempting to switch to the Legislative Assembly. The electoral district of Mulgrave is situated in the south-east of the Melbourne Metropolitan Region. The electorate contains the suburbs of Mulgrave and Noble Park North. It also contains parts of the suburbs of Dandenong North, Noble Park, Springvale and Wheelers Hill. The seat previously existed from 1958 to 1967 as a safe Liberal seat.
