South Division (MPBL)
The South Division is one of two divisions in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), the other being the North Division. Both divisions were formed as a result of the league's national expansion in the 2018–19 season. As of 2024, the South Division consists of 15 teams. The most recent realignment occurred in the 2024 season. In that season, the returning Davao Occidental Tigers were placed back into the South Division while the Bacoor City Strikers departed from the league. Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League
The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is a men's professional sports, professional basketball league in the Philippines. History Manny Pacquiao launched the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League on August 29, 2017, starting off as a semi-professional league. According to Pacquiao, the league is not intended to be a competitor to the Philippine Basketball Association, the country's top professional basketball league. The MPBL was intended to feature both a regional commercial and barangay-level league with teams on the commercial side to have a home locality in addition to a corporate sponsor. In the first months, the league hosted teams from Luzon with future plans to expand to accommodate teams based in Visayas and Mindanao like the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association. Quezon Huskers
The Quezon Huskers are a Filipino professional basketball team based in the province of Quezon. The team primarily competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as one of six active teams based in Calabarzon, playing their home games at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena. The team will also join the Pilipinas Super League (PSL) for the 2023–24 President's Cup under the name Quezon Titans. The team was founded as part of the United Regional Basketball League (URBL) from 2004 to 2005 as the Quezon Coco Huskers, and joined the MPBL as an expansion team in the 2023 season. Mindoro Tamaraws
The Oriental Mindoro Disiplinados (formerly Mindoro Tamaraws) are a professional basketball team competing in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). They also played as the Mindoro Tamaraws Disiplinados in the National Basketball League. Imus, officially the City of Imus ( fil, Lungsod ng Imus), is a 3rd class component city and ''de jure'' capital of the province of Cavite, Philippines.
