The ninth season of Nouvelle Star began on December 11, 2012 and finished on February 26, 2013. Virginie Guilhaume was replaced by Cyril Hanouna. André Manoukian
André Antranik Manoukian (born 9 April 1957 in Lyon) is a French songwriter, arranger, jazz musician, and actor of Armenian descent. Between 2002-2017, he served as one of four judges in the French version of Pop Idol, ''Nouvelle Star''. Early years and education Born in Lyon, France, Manoukian is of Armenian descent. He began playing the piano when he was seven years old. Later, when he was a student, he sold organs in a shop to earn money. At 20, he studied music at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. After the basics he studied musical composition, arrangement and harmony. Music career Upon returning to France Manoukian started a jazz band called ''Horn Stuff''. Mathieu Blanc-Francard, stage name Sinclair (born 19 July 1970), is a French musician and singer-songwriter. Early life Born in 1970 at Tours as son of Dominique Blanc-Francard and brother of Hubert Blanc-Francard, known professionally as Boom Bass (of Cassius), Mathieu Blanc-Francard grew up in Paris and went to school at the lycée Janson-de-Sailly. Claudine Luypaerts, better known as Maurane (; 12 November 1960 – 7 May 2018), was a Francophone Belgian singer and actress. Sophie-Tith Charvet (born 19 September 1996) is a French singer and winner of the television show ''Nouvelle Star'' in 2013. Biography Sophie-Tith is the third of a family of three daughters. She was born in Ambilly and grew up in a house in Ville-la-Grand, a town in the northern suburbs of Annemasse in Haute-Savoie. The second part of her name is Laotian for origin and ''reason, human feeling'', or alternatively Tith pronounced teat means "small". She attended Pottières kindergarten, then the Centre elementary school and Paul Langevin middle school. ''Nouvelle Star'' (; also known as '' À la Recherche de la Nouvelle Star'' for the first season) is a French television series based on the popular Pop Idol programme produced by FremantleMedia. It was broadcast by M6 in seasons 1–8 before D8 aired seasons 9-12. M6 broadcast the 13th and final season. It was hosted by Benjamin Castaldi for the first three seasons (2003–2005). He also hosted 13 episodes of seasons 4 (2006). Virginie Efira presented the remainder of season 4, as well as presenting seasons 5 and 6. Virginie Guilhaume hosted seasons 7 and 8.
