Sol Phryne
''Sol Phryne'' was a ferry of Sol Maritime Services Ltd. She was bought by the Palestine Liberation Organisation and sunk on 16 February 1988. ''Sol Phryne'' was built in Japan in 1948 as '':ja:大雪丸 (初代), Taisetsu Maru'' . From 1967 to 1974, she was owned by Efthymiades Line and used for regular ferry duties between Greek islands as ''Eolis''. In 1974, she was purchased by Sol Maritime Services Ltd., renamed ''Sol Phryne'' and was then used in the Middle East, notably evacuating Palestinian guerrillas from Beirut in 1982. She was sunk during an attempt to ferry Palestinian deportees to Haifa, Israel. Ronen Bergman (; born June 16, 1972) is an Israeli investigative journalist and author. He previously wrote for ''Haaretz'', and as of 2010, was a senior political and military analyst for ''Yedioth Ahronoth''. He won a Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of the Gaza war. Dan Margalit (; born March 13, 1938) is an Israeli journalist, author and television host. Biography Dan Margalit was born and raised in Tel Aviv. Haim Corfu (; 6 January 1921 – 23 February 2015) was an Israeli politician, and earlier Irgun commander and assassin. Biography Corfu was born in Jerusalem in 1921 to an ultra-Orthodox family. He studied in religious schools and yeshivas and attended a religious teachers seminary. In 1937 he joined the Irgun and was a member of the Irgun command in Jerusalem. During that time he also played as a striker for Beitar Jerusalem. He used his training as an electrician to design explosives.
