Vellinge Municipality
Vellinge Municipality () is a municipality in Skåne County in southern Sweden. Its seat is located in Vellinge. The present municipality is a result of the latest local government reform in Sweden. In 1974 the municipalities of '' Räng'', '' Vellinge'' and '' Månstorp'' (all three created through amalgamation of even smaller units in 1952) amalgamated with the former ''Town of Skanör med Falsterbo'' to form a new Vellinge Municipality. The municipality is considered to be one of the most economically well-off in Sweden, politically governed by a stable majority of the liberal conservative Moderate Party. Ljunghusen
Ljunghusen is a locality situated in Vellinge Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 2,555 inhabitants in 2010. It is located west of Höllviken and east of Skanör-Falsterbo. The town is notable for its beaches and for its golf course, Ljunghusens GK, which on several occasions has been ranked among Sweden's five best courses. Ljunghusen had a train station between 1904 and 1971, and between 1905 and 1924 a horsetrack went from the train station in the north of the village to the beach in the south. Etymology Ljunghusen The town has been named after two houses built in the beginning of the 19th century, north of the main road to Skanör-Falsterbo, approximately a little south of the former railway station house. These two houses had their own chapter "Ljunghusen" (The heather houses) in the parish register already 1837. Skanör Med Falsterbo
Skanör med Falsterbo is a statistical locality (Swedish ''tätort'', locality code 3672), situated in Vellinge Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 6,937 inhabitants in 2010. It consists of the two old towns of Skanör and Falsterbo which have grown together and were unified in 1754, but are still regarded as different communities by locals. The preposition ''med'' means ''with''. Thanks to its southerly and maritime position, the locality is the mildest in Sweden, with winter lows barely averaging frosts. Background It is a conurbation consisting of the two medieval towns of Skanör and Falsterbo. Both towns are located on the elongated reef-like western part of the Falsterbo Peninsula, (''Falsterbonäset''), Falsterbo to the south and Skanör to the north.
