Sivapanthera
''Sivapanthera'' is a prehistoric genus of felid described by Kretzoi in 1929. Species of ''Sivapanthera'' are closely related to the modern cheetah but differ from modern cheetahs by having relatively longer brain cases, flatter foreheads, narrower nostrils and larger teeth. In many ways, skulls of ''Sivapanthera'' show similarity to that of the puma, or even those of ''Panthera''. Scholars differ on the validity of this genus, while some think that it should be treated as a distinct genus, others think that its members should be treated as members of the ''Acinonyx'' genus, or even as subspecies of '' Acinonyx pardinensis''. The Felinae are a subfamily of the family Felidae. This subfamily comprises the small cats having a bony hyoid, because of which they are able to purr but not roar. Other authors have proposed an alternative definition for this subfamily: as comprising only the living conical-toothed cat genera with two tribes, the Felini and Pantherini; thus excluding all fossil cat species. Miklós Kretzoi (9 February 1907 – 15 March 2005) was a Hungarian geologist, paleontologist and paleoanthropologist and Széchenyi Prize winner. Exhibition in the Hungarian National Museum, 9 February - 24 May 2004 Kretzoi studied Arts and natural sciences at the then Pázmány Péter University, Budapest from 1925 to 1929. Dongxiang Autonomous County (; Santa: Dunxianzu Zizhixien) is an autonomous county in the Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, province of Gansu of the People's Republic of China.
