Sirimal Wijesinghe
Sirimal Wijesinghe is a Sri Lankan journalist, film director, and political activist. He was the founding editor of the controversial Sinhala language, Sinhala youth magazine, ''Paradisaya''. Wijesinghe was also one of the pioneers of the Colombo-based young political and cultural analysts who emerged in the decade of 1980, particularly after the advent of the open economic system. Journalism Wijesinghe worked as an editor of newspapers or periodicals in Sri Lanka and is known for covering controversial topics with social and cultural analyses. His topics have ranged from politics, arts, culture and sexuality, presented in a more colloquial language comprising satire. Well-known social scientist Prof. Jayadeva Uyangoda, Jayadewa Uyangoda once said he learnt to use a different and more effective writing style after reading Wijesinghe's articles. ''How I Wonder What You Are'' is a 2010 drama film directed by Udaya Dharmawardhana and Chinthana Dharmadasa. The film is a low budget production and is claimed to be from the first independent cinema in Sri Lanka. Plot The plot is a story of two youths who are engaged on a soul searching mission. D (played by Prasanna Mahaganage) is a youth of 29 who is frustrated with life not having a reason to live. He yearns for some form of connection, when Kathy (played by Purnima Mohandiram) visits him. She comes to D after a little crash with her partner KK (played by Namal Jayasinghe). Udaya Dharmawardhana is a Sri Lankan film director, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, and editor. He created several music videos and TV advertisements. He also co-directed the feature film How I Wonder What You Are. Chinthana Dharmadasa (born in November 27, 1976) is a Sri Lankan film director, film critic and a screenwriter who is also a Creative Director in the Sri Lankan advertising industry. Dharmadasa has worked for several periodicals as a writer and directed several short films, music videos, co-directed a feature film and is popularly known as an opinionated blogger and a critic. Boodee Keerthisena
Vishvanath Buddhika Keerthisena, also known as Boodee Keerthisena, is a Sri Lankan filmmaker. He began his career drawing comics before moving into painting, dress design, and visual arts. He moved into music in the late 1980s, and performed in a band called "''Boo-Dee and the Woo-Zees''" (1986–1992) as the lead singer. In 1987, he went to New York City to study film. He joined the film department to study film and television at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan.
