''How I Wonder What You Are'' is a 2010 drama film directed by Udaya Dharmawardhana and Chinthana Dharmadasa. The film is a low budget production and is claimed to be from the first independent cinema in Sri Lanka. Plot The plot is a story of two youths who are engaged on a soul searching mission. D (played by Prasanna Mahaganage) is a youth of 29 who is frustrated with life not having a reason to live. He yearns for some form of connection, when Kathy (played by Purnima Mohandiram) visits him. She comes to D after a little crash with her partner KK (played by Namal Jayasinghe). Kathy is waiting for a call from her boyfriend to confirm that he still needs her, but the call never comes. D and Kathy spend a day waiting, yet nothing happens. Udaya Dharmawardhana
Udaya Dharmawardhana is a Sri Lankan film director, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, and editor. He created several music videos and TV advertisements. He also co-directed the feature film How I Wonder What You Are. Biography Udaya Dharmawardhana began his career as an artistic photographer, and he continued his desire to see the world around him through the frame by becoming a videographer and shortly then cinematographer. After working as a program producer in a leading TV station in Sri Lanka for a few years, he became one of the most prominent music video directors in the country who severely contributed to forming music video art in Sri Lanka, taking it into a new approach. Chinthana Dharmadasa
Chinthana Dharmadasa (born in November 27, 1976) is a Sri Lankan film director, film critic and a screenwriter who is also a Creative Director in the Sri Lankan advertising industry. Dharmadasa has worked for several periodicals as a writer and directed several short films, music videos, co-directed a feature film and is popularly known as an opinionated blogger and a critic. Biography Dharmadasa graduated from the University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Philosophy and began his career as a media officer and worked in several government institutions. Sirimal Wijesinghe
Sirimal Wijesinghe is a Sri Lankan journalist, film director, and political activist. He was the founding editor of the controversial Sinhala language, Sinhala youth magazine, ''Paradisaya''. Wijesinghe was also one of the pioneers of the Colombo-based young political and cultural analysts who emerged in the decade of 1980, particularly after the advent of the open economic system.
