''Silet'' (English: Razor) is a television news entertainment program formatting infotainment that is broadcast on the Indonesian TV station RCTI and INews. This program first aired on October 21, 2002 hosted by Feni Rose. The program has the slogan is ''"Semua dikupas secara tajam setajam, Silet"'', (English: All stripped to a sharp razor blades) and primarily reports on celebrity news and gossip, along with previews of upcoming films, television shows, viral on social media and gothic mystery, regular segments about all of those seven subjects, along with overall film and television industry news. Infotainment (a portmanteau of ''information'' and ''entertainment''), also called soft news as a way to distinguish it from serious journalism or hard news, is a type of media, usually television or online, that provides a combination of information and entertainment. The term may be used disparagingly to devalue infotainment or soft news subjects in favor of more serious hard news subjects. Infotainment-based websites and social media apps are gaining traction due to their focused publishing of infotainment content, e.g. BuzzFeed. 2010 Eruptions Of Mount Merapi
In late October 2010, Mount Merapi in Central Java, Indonesia, began an increasingly violent series of eruptions that continued into November. Seismic activity around the volcano increased from mid-September onwards, culminating in repeated outbursts of lava and ashes. Large eruption columns formed, causing numerous pyroclastic flows down the heavily populated slopes of the volcano. Merapi's eruption was the largest since the 1870s. Over 350,000 people were evacuated from the affected area. Many others remained behind or returned to their homes while the eruptions were continuing. 353 people were killed during the eruptions, many as a result of pyroclastic flows. The ash plumes from the volcano also caused major disruptions to aviation across Java. The mountain continued to erupt until 30 November 2010. iNews (short for ''Indonesia News'', formerly named SUN TV and Sindo TV) is an Indonesian free-to-air television network founded by Media Nusantara Citra, a subsidiary of Global Mediacom unit of MNC Asia Holding. The Indonesian Broadcasting Commission ( id, Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia, abbreviated as KPI) is an independent broadcasting agency in Indonesia that functions as a regulating body for broadcasting companies in the country. The commission was established in 2002 based on Act No. 32 of 2002 on Broadcasting.
